Organization is my everyday job and even I can't function when I feel overwhelmed. That feeling often happens when I try to jump in and take on several activities, at once. It's immediate chaos. And I shit down in chaos.

Are you a biscuits person? What's your topping, Jelly/jam or butter?
@doclewis8927Ай бұрын
You really should have the recipe somewhere for the drop biscuits if you want people to engage, especially when you're showing that you made homemade biscuits. To answer your question: I'm old fashioned so I like sausage gravy on my biscuits.
@haywardandloveАй бұрын
@@doclewis8927 lol, just ask me for the recipe if that's what you'd like. I don't really measure everything but the basics are, 2cps all purpose flour, 2 and a half tsp of baking powder, about a 1/4 stick of cold butter, a literal pinch of salt and tsp of sugar. I prefer to mix these ingredients with a fork so the butter crumbles in the flour. You should see pieces of butter. Then I add half n half to the flour mixture until it it gets sticky, not wet. But sticky. It should pull away from the bowl. Mix it with a plastic or silicone spatula until you have a doughy mix.
@haywardandloveАй бұрын
@@doclewis8927 I like a cast iron skillet, but a regular baking sheet works just fine. And about the sausage gravy, I'll have to try that one day 🤓

All vendor markets aren't the same and all event hosts don't have the same experience and credibility. It's so important to do your research.
@walterparrish27922 ай бұрын
I understand where you are coming from, but this all goes back to old school ways of doing business. That mean's saving up enough money to do business before you start. A lot of things you mention are more important most people think. Sometimes a customer or potential won't take you seriously unless they can find a website or your presence on the facebook, youtube, instagram or one of the others. I would recommend opening a smalll shared hosting accounting. As far as LLC while you could wait on that it would keep things real and keep a beginner on their toes. lolol While you are laying out money to maintain one can be expensive (not really) depending how you go about it, but this depends on the business. The other thing is an llc or corp allows you to have some privacy even if you are operating from a physical location, but again this depends on if you are selling physical products or not or if you are drop shipping.
@haywardandlove2 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for the insight and I don't disagree. I definitely know there is value in all. But to your point, a FB shop could save the dollars if you don't have a lot of capital to play with. And yep, most customers won't think you're legit if you don't have some sort of presence. My point is that everything isn't required to get started.
@walterparrish27922 ай бұрын
@@haywardandlove I think if they can't come up with 2.99 for hosting and 5 bucks for a domain they need to really rethink this business thing. Facebook and other social sites can be good for marketing mix, but long term it doesn't really work. Being that they call the shots and can ban you at any time.

This is funny that I've across your video. I have a small publishing business where my company assists self-publishing authors in developing a press-ready manuscript. We also produce stationary items such as planners, journals etc. I've been at it for years and have been feeling discouraged, and at the point of making a hard decision about my company. The website has been up and running for years, I may sell books sometimes, but it's been crickets for the past few years. I do notice that when I did events where I had a booth, I sold more books etc. But I've been having problems scaling, doing everything on my own, getting burned out because I work a full-time high intense job in the court system, and most days I am exhausted after work. It's a struggle trying to manage a small business on the side, work a full-time job, and garner support from the community, friends and loved ones. I know I need to make a change and pivot, so I'm now focusing on what's necessary, and how I can move forward. Thank you for this video. I'm curious to watch any other videos you have about your business.
@haywardandlove3 ай бұрын
Wow, thank you for your comment. Yes doing everything is exhausting so finding ways to scale sensibly and on my terms are important moving forward. I'm not ready to call it quits on everything. I've made a decision to share more about my entrepreneur journey and our stationery. Especially now that I've decided to back away from the Markets. Thank you for watching and sharing.

I love this, PG!! I would say a few things: 1. You will always be the one that knows it’s time for a change, recalibration, restructuring, etc. Doing so is the core function of the leader - as it won’t be the social media marketer, virtual assistance, salesperson, etc. GREAT JOB on proactively disrupting yourself!l to move from strength to strength. 2. You’ve learned so much from this leg of the journey - customer profile, market behaviors, seasonality of the business, partner fit/alignment, distribution channel pros / cons (market vs. ecomm), etc. This leg was worthwhile and gives you a ton of data to optimize the level-up. Brilliantly done! 3. I challenge you to decide now how you want to in. Decide that from the beginning. Do you want corporate teams to be holding your stationary? Do you want Barnes & Nobles to sell your stationary? Do you want you stationary to solely be alongside Hayward & Love consulting? Decide that and do the things that move you FORWARD along that path. Don’t worry about jumping the mountain in a single leap - your job is to move FORWARD. I love you big! - Casey Ariel
