When you set it up and go to use it.. can you do a tutorial on it.. I'm trying to educate myself with programming a TL2 and the gang block setup is something I haven't come across yet..

I'm right there with ya. I've been working at a small plastic company as their tool maker for about 15 years now.. so never really had the need for a cnc lathe because I hardly ever make more than 20 to 30 parts of anything.. but we finally pull the trigger and we're getting the TL2.. it should be showing up next week sometime.. ordered all the tooling to go with it.. boring bars, parting tools, turning and facing bits.. and a gang block.. we even got the 4 station turret tool holder.. I've read the operation manual.. much of it didn't make a lot of sense so I started watching video after video after video on set ups and programming.. I think I've got it for the most part.. the one thing that I haven't come across yet is setting up and programming for the gang block.. I'll definitely be using it for center drilling, drilling and tapping.. another thing I haven't come across yet is programming a peck drill cycle that'll completely retract the drill after each peck.. I make a lot of parts out of titanium. That stuff is terrible for drilling a deep hole and requires chip removal.. so hopefully you can upload some how to videos on those two topics and help a fellow out..

So far, I have not had an opportunity to use it. Finished up my PMP certification and pursuing an MBA. Soon though!

If you were starting over, would you just save the money from getting a manual lathe and just go straight to a TL-1 or ST?

Thanks for your comment! Hindsight, time and efficiency is the most valuable resource. I would have went strait to a CNC.

I regret buying this machine. The purpose was to cover the odd lathe job coming in but everything coming in was 50 to 200pcs. I don't do rifling or really long parts so big mistake for me.. If you are making more than 10 parts and don't need the length get a turning center or you will be frowning every time you use it. The direction of coolant, cleaning chips off tool holders every time makes it a pain.

We bought Haas TL1 and we needed to make some room for a Built American Equipmen Cerakote oven, spray booth, Eaton Air Compressor, and sand blasting cabinet. Home based 3 bay garage shop.

We paid 5% more than these options are available now through Haas. Local HFO is providing some additional training for free to remove heartburn. Stand up of them!

Nice! Any tips and tricks? Just got myself a CRX and getting into SPL again, i built in a Renault Twingo before so would be awesome with some info on box dimensions, sound deadening, etc :)
