I am a long time trike rider - started back in September 2010 when I got my life back - For me it was the inability to ride a bike after bad MVA. I highly recommend them to people who have been compromised in someway that makes bike riding problematic. I still ride under my own steam but there are solid reason to add pedalling support. I just haven't reached that point yet. I have not had the opportunity to come through Chemainus of late, but I would love to drop by your shop one day. I was pleasantly surprised when I first heard about it.

HP Velitechnik is an awesome company. I've had a Street Machine for more than 10 years. The best bike I've ever had. How difficult would it be to add a shell? I'm interested in a velomobile.

Excellent review, I'll be sure to look you when I'm over next. Your knowledge is impressive. A couple of corrections: "The Smart System" uses eBike Flow+ app. It's excellent. Also, It's Gates CDX end to end, the two are not compatible.

while i appreicate my semi recumbant add motor being able to look around but you cannot take your eyes off the front on some of these trails I ride since it follows the canal and rivers and it tends to be a very short distance between trail and grass area that tends to be sloped to the river, i almost went off the trail into the canal when I was looking scenery so when I am on a better trail I do look around more. this bike looks alot lighter than mine which weighs 100 pounds I heard 86 not sure what it is.

Still no commands? Let me be the first then. (From the Netherlands 😄 ) I'm considering to attach a Enviolo automatiq to a existing manual Enviolo. It's possible according to their website. I use my e-bike a lot off road and manual changing gears needs much turning from high to low or reverse. Especially when I'm looking around for nice photo stops and forget to change gear. 😅 Nice detailed review of the Velo de Ville which is also sold near by where I live.

Simply the best review I’ve ever seen. Thanks for taking the time. What do you think about the Delite 4 high speed for a commute of 40km total?/ Today I bike that distance in an e-bike with max assistance of 25km/h. It’s one of those with some resistance once it gets to 25km/h. So it’s hard to go faster than that. And here where I live the bike lanes are great (Copenhagen, DK), so it feels really safe in a good part of the journey, as the bike lanes on the road are completely separated from the cars and only a few people are biking there. Thanks again for the super cool video😊

I rode recumbents for 15+ years (butt/hands) and only got back on uprights 8 years ago when I bought a full suspension Haibike that has become my road/mut bike with Super Moto X tires and fenders. If your tailbone is sensitive fs makes a big difference in how long you can ride. Nice to see some street bikes but wish it weren't so expensive.

My first recumbent trike ride was amazing. I loved it. That's exactly what I told my family, I felt like a kid riding a go kart. Probably the most dangerous place to ride a recumbent trike is in a parking lot or anywhere where stationary car(s) are in between you and any moving cars. Since the parked car is taller than you, not only can't moving cars see you, you can't see them either. I would not put my full confidence in the fact that I have a flag either. I experienced this firsthand when I was test riding in a parking lot. So as long as you are aware of this and ride defensively, you'll be OK

I'm seriously thinking of ditching my vehicle for a bike. But the choices and unknown factors are staggering and frequently insanely expensive. Are these bikes capable of bikepacking and towing a trailer? I'm looking at a recembent trike, a frontloader and longtail cargo bikes as a way to adventure with a trailer in tow for camera gear, sleep system and food. I'm also over 50 and would definitely want comfort and e-assist. What is your recommendation for my scenario? My 2 favorite are the RM Load75 and Azub Ti-Fly X trike vs anything else like a Yuba spicy curry.

Although Hase specifically designed the Trigo and Kettwiesel with a "kickstand" to store vertically, HP has not done the same with their Delta. It would be a bit tricky with the rear basket holder.

Citrus Cycles, Tern has produced a few different cargo bikes. The Tern GSD appears to be a good comparison. What are your thoughts on that?

We sell them both, so I don't want to let my personal feelings influence your decision. However, you probably noticed a few of my comments in the video about why I really like the MultiTinker, but I also indicated that Tern makes some great accessories. Hopefully that helps!

Both tadpoles and deltas here. Far favor delta trikes. No 'tadpole disassembly' for rear flat tire on a delta! HELLO!?!?! 2WD, Rohloff gearbox. Never again any cassette after Rohloff! Been stuck offroad on both my "roady" tire and my "fatty" tire tadpoles. 3 Hase Lepus' here. Over 30 years recumbent experience. Delta trike dual suspension under rider's torso and cargo, not one's knees like on a tadpole. Never outgrow a delta planform trike. Grow oldest on a delta planform trike. 70-yo limited-mobility handicapper here. Slidable On/Off from wheelchair with forearm crutches on my deltas. 25-inch height seat option on my Lepus (wheelchair seat same). Favor indirect under-seat steering for BOTH maximum arm comfort AND minimum road vibration. This recent HP offering has over-the-top engineering, AND it even has reverse! Slide ON/OFF this HP delta trike, even if on a wheelchair (never so on any tadpole)! Love that instant on/off grocery store basket too! "Jason Stillwater" in the recumbent world.

Thanks for your good reviews. It's very nice of you to "bring" people with you in so thorough testing with good descriptions were we can follow you carefully and find answers to everything we want. I hope the customers understand the great advantages this fantastic service gives for people if they want to evaluate different types of trikes or bikes. I have been very active in sports in hole my life, but 2,5 years ago I was disabled after an reaction from a vaccine that affected nerves in my neck via worn nerve canals, and I have got exhausted from the simplest things and mostly bedridden. Long history in short, I can hardly walk a few steps with crutches, but the specialists found that my legs can work for at least 30 % power in 20-30 minutes in a laid back position with good neck rest, like on a recumbent trike. Now I'm not allowed to drive a car, and I would like to use a e-trike with pedal assist as an outdoor wheelchair for local transport. But because I get completely exhausted of vibrations I have compared vibrations on camera with your ICE Full Fat and ICE Adventure, and of course the Full Fat is looking great. But then I found that Full Fat no longer has the front suspension also needed for me. And I have asked ICE if I could get aFull Fat full suspension in my case, if this is not possible I have asked for use of 2,6- 2,8' wide volume tires on ICE Adventure. Regardless of how good suspension you can get, the weak/small vibrations need balloon tires, we found the same as passanger in cars. I would like to thank you for your great reviews, and I'm sorry I can't boy the trike from You IN Canada, but I will wish you the best. Best Regards Arne G from Norway.

It should be lower and have the battery on top... I don’t understand those design choices
@CitrusCycles

The extra top rack is optional, and is useful for bringing a trunk bag along. You can check out the pictures on our website for examples without the top rack: citruscycles.ca/ice-adventure-electric-recumbent-trike Check out the second video on that page for a video without the top rack. The battery mount is in the perfect position - low and in the centre of the bike. This improves the handling. We really try to avoid rack mount batteries when possible.

i'd be interested in a direct comparison of this tadpole design to the kettweisel trigo and as a fat tire on a trail and beach. I'm looking at e-assist trikes and trying to decide. I want something capable of good uphill AND downhill and off-road, like a max-capacity farm truck replacement for grocery-getting and adventuring. Pony4 quads also interest me in that regard. I love the bike RV videos i'm seeing by people like Max le Bourlingueur. I am over 50 and was rendered homeless by the 2020 PNW fires and that setup looks pretty amazing. The tandem trike looks like an interesting way to make an rv platform. It would eliminate the need for a trailer. I'm seriously thinking of ditching my vehicle for one of these because of the expense and terrible roadways. For awareness, I think everyone should watch Stroads by Not Just Bikes.

I installed a riser on my '07 Trice I bought it in 2018 and find it very useful getting in and out of the trike. I've not had any tipping experiences, mostly because corners fast are for 2 wheel bikes, not a trike. I used clamps to attach the seat to the riser.

Thinking they also sell Hase trikes. My "Hase Lepus," with 25-inch seat height option, is slidable off/on from my wheelchair and forearm crutches! Not so, on ANY tadpole trike!!! Rohloff gearbox, E-assist, 2WD, dual suspension directly under rider's torso and any cargo! NO "tadpole wheel removal" for a rear flat tire on a Delta Planform recumbent trike! Never outgrow a Delta Planform recumbent trike. Grow oldest on a Delta Planform recumbent trike.

I'd love to see more comparison videos about delta ((like Hase Kettwiesel) vs tadpole trikes vs quads vs bakfiets and cargo bikes...especially with regard to trailers and bicycle rv's for adventure travel and homeless solutions. I know quads like TrikExplor can pedal up stairs. Are trikes able to do this? I really feel like these trikes/quads should be more accomodated, along with pedestrians in our cities, and we should move away from polluting, expensive, noisy vehicles. I think this is the future of travel, especially in urban areas. There's a video about "Stroads" by Not Just Bikes that I think everyone should watch that addresses a lot of shortcomings of our society and bike culture. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. <3
