The speech about becoming comfortable about being angry for a long time is especially powerful because O'Brien is the recipient. He's Irish, so of course there's all the crap that the British have done to us, most notably, Cromwell; the Famine and the Black and Tans, but also his own history fighting the Cardassians, which comes up multiple times in DS9.

No, when YOUR Star Trek was Star Trek. To call latest incarnations not Trek, is an insult to the embodiment of what Trek teaches and has taught.

Starfleet officers follow admirals because the chain of command says they have to. They follow captains like Picard because they want to.

There is a lot of inspiration (& honest reflection) writing in many Sci-Fi shows that goes unrecognised or ignored just because it is in a Sci-Fi show. The format, the voice, the canvus should not matter during evaluation, it is the witting, the delivery, the artwork that should be judged & where appropriate recognised & rewarded.

9:55 I’ve got news for you. Humans cannot stand being free and they would go to ANY lengths to avoid it. The freedom fairytale is a fucking fabrication.
@claudiamanta19434 ай бұрын
9:26 Oh, no, Picard. Once upon a time animals that now pass (not) as humans were literally eating their enemies. Now they don’t‘extinguish’ their ‘enemies’, they torture them (for research purposes, obviously, not for pleasure).
@claudiamanta19434 ай бұрын
6:28 Listen to yourself, Picard. Freedom and self- determination are in the same category as truth and respect. Those in power wipe their arses with these slogans. So do the mobs that have a natural survivor cleverness about them. It’s the odd idealist who is shocked to find out reality (surely, such an idealist must have a hidden disability as it’s not normal to be oblivious to or deny reality).
@claudiamanta19434 ай бұрын
5:24 Nope, again. They’re not victims. They’re animals. Why they’re just animals? Because of their leaders.
