Some wonderful goals to help prevent cognitive decline, Drs. Rivera and Edgerly. We didn't see this on facebook and are watching now on KZbin. We'd love to see the day that Alzheimer's and other dementias can be truly prevented. Until then, it's wonderful to learn there are things that can reduce the risk. Sadly, we've been affected directly as my wife Kathy is currently going though it right now. This goes back to your opening statement. We'd love to have someone with Dr. Rivera come into our home and help! 🤣🤣I;m just kidding of course. Sadly too, Kathy did follow most of these recommendations, if not all. We're so happy and blessed to recently begin being able to start raising funding for the Alzheimer's Association. Not much as of yet, but hopefully it will help bring about total prevention of these terrible illnesses that take away so much from so many. Thanks so much for all of your help and love!

I’m sorry Mr. LaMalfa but as a 70 year old person living with Alzheimers I have emailed you about the need for more help with development of medication for slowing down the progression of this horrible disease. The Alzheimers Association sends us letters we can send our politicians to request more government funding for research. It allows us an ability to communicate with you and which I did 3 times. The text letters I got back were form letters. Politicians representing counties need to respond occasionally to a person who pours their heart out to you. I was an RN for 35 years, a job I loved and was forced to quit because of this disease. You are representing an enormous amount of people, but your staff should forward certain emails to you those of us who are speaking from hearts and just want to know you are really listening. I know you are aware that the new medicine that is approved by the FDA it attacks and is supposed to remove the amyloid plaque in the brain that builds up in the brain. Biogen developed it and it costs $ 56,000 a year. Their not even sure it will work on everyone. So you pay Biogen $ 56,000 a year with no assurance it will work on you. Most people don’t make that in year. They are dangling this in front of us. We need help, please. Sincerely Laura McDermott
