Who's here in Dec 2024?

Here is what I know. I went to North Bergen High School in the 1970s. We played our home games at Hudson County Park aka James J. Braddock Park. As a kid, I played softball/baseball on the very field where there was a supposed UFO landing. Everyone my age at the time laughed and ridiculed people(sadly) that were claiming to have seen the event. Including the liquor store owner. However, strangely when I went to the park with my friends to play on that very field, there was a huge new fence put up around it. I was also a "paperboy" for the Hudson Dispatch in the 1970s. I had the largest hand delivery route of over 180 customers. It stemmed from Kennedy Blvd(80th Street) through Bergenline Avenue(White Castles). My route was along the entire Bergenline length on the Park. I started my daily deliveries at 5am in the dark. The park would sometimes have glowing lights coming from it. Creepy. I moved fast and told NO ONE for fear of ridicule. Growing up I knew every inch of that Park, and yes "strange" happened there. I, myself, never saw a UFO In North Bergen back then, but many people claimed to have seen them first hand. I just shrugged it iff...I had newspapers to deliver. Funny thing in the aftermath. There was an article about tge Park Landing in the old Hudson Dispatch, but then ZERO follow up. Our Dispatcher was basically told to NOT Speak of it. A few years later, I had a good friend who lived in the apartments across from the Park. We were seniors at NBHS. Larry had a car, we would go out late for tge last few races at the Meadowlands. One day coming home around midnight the Park was buzzing with activity again. A story of yet another UFO landing. The Park was blocked off by NBPD. Larry could not even get into his apartment's parking lot. He had to park and walk home. STRANGE though, no article in the newspaper the next day. Nobody talking about it like it never happened. The good people of North Bergen learned their lesson from 1975's "event". You say something, you are considered crazy.

So, this happened maybe a year ago. I was driving back home late at night-probably around 11:30 or so. You know that stretch of road where there’s nothing but fields on either side? Yeah, that’s where I was. It was one of those nights where the sky was super clear, like, you could see every star. No clouds, no moonlight, just pitch-black darkness and stars. I was tired but not like falling asleep or anything. The drive was quiet; there weren’t even any other cars on the road. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I noticed this bright light hovering in the sky ahead of me. At first, I thought it was just a plane or maybe a helicopter. But the light was... off. It wasn’t blinking like normal aircraft lights, and it didn’t seem to be moving like one either. It was just... there, floating. As I kept driving, I got closer to it. That’s when I realized how weird this thing was. It wasn’t just one light-there were three of them, arranged in a triangle. They were white, but they kind of shimmered, almost like the way a star flickers but more controlled, if that makes sense. The lights were completely silent, which freaked me out because even helicopters make noise, right? What really got me was when I stopped the car to get a better look. I know, dumb move in hindsight, but curiosity got the better of me. As soon as I stepped out and looked up, the lights started to move. Not like a plane turning or anything. It was this smooth, fluid motion, like it was gliding but way too fast for anything man-made. Then it stopped. Dead still, right above me. I swear, it felt like it was watching me. I know that sounds crazy, but it was this overwhelming sense of being observed, like when someone’s staring at you in a room but you don’t want to turn around. And then, without any warning, the lights shot straight up into the sky. Not at an angle, not gradually-just straight up, faster than anything I’ve ever seen. Within seconds, it was gone, like it had never been there. I stood there for a minute, heart pounding, trying to process what I’d just seen. Eventually, I got back in the car and drove home, but I couldn’t shake the feeling. I didn’t tell anyone for the longest time because, you know, who’s gonna believe me? But I know what I saw. It wasn’t a plane or a drone or anything normal. It was... something else.
