@@SerdceDanko I'd recommend the sequel, Shining Force Exa it's the same game but balanced better with more stuff.

@@SerdceDanko I think it has to do with the absence of the PS1 CPU on the later PS2 revisions. Some games used it to do sound and some other stuff and those games get messed up when played on slim consoles.

I'd not recommend using that mode cause it literally cuts the resolution down to 480X272 which is not read by most capture cards in general. You're better off setting it to 480pX2(in the VGA mode, not DTV) and crop it in OBS preview like shown in the video.

@@Hatredcopter.M3 you mean the vampire sword? No, not always, it seems to be somewhat random, sometimes you can go several floors without triggering it a single time other times I get health back on every hit in a combo.

@@nikodem123asdf i finished my first run the other day the one where you get to the godess and purify or merge with her and it was wonderful to stunlock metabeings to death for half an hour. by the way do you unlock more enemies every time you advance in the story or something?? or is it the same every time

@@Hatredcopter.M3 in the main dungeon monster spawns are set per floor. There are some variations, like if you turn on heating on one of the early floors it changes some floors further down (frozen or flooded) which also affects monsters. The optional dungeons, no idea, I do know they have much harder recolors of standard enemies there. Also there are 4 secret enemies you can make spawn by playing the game for a stupid long time collecting everything and finishing super dungeons but I never did that and I don't really want to.

Apparently someone's looking into it tho I know literally nothing beyond that

@@retroland9703 I kinda treat KZbin like a social media. I wanted to re-do my comparison of the Xbox and PS2 version but sadly my Xbox exploded and then I fried the PSU of the other Xbox I bought as a replacement... So that idea is out of the question for now. One other thing I heard is that the platinum /greatest hits version of this game fixed the sound issue on PS2 slim.

you could try, God of War 1 shouldnt have this problem at all actually, it's one of the few games that don't have weird resolution problems.

@@Gameplaylongs You can type in resolution in the settings(format is like "1440x960"). Just make sure the canvas and output are the same

@@sacredknight2309 I should mention this only happened once through a 26 hour long playthrough, but I did have at least 2 crashes on load screens.

At it's worst it bricks your save file and at it's best it's really memorable and weird. Honestly if it wasn't for the bugs that can literally destroy your save file combined the fact you can't have multiple saves this game would be an easy recommend cause nothing in it is hard and the story is well worth experiencing.

@@victorsylvanus7074 I don't remember having trouble with that but also my memory of using my pc in mid to late 2000 is kinda foggy. It could have something to do with soundcard drivers or something similar.

@@nikodem123asdf Probably. If you want to experience the XP full music intro, I would recommend a Creative AudioPCI ES1371/73 or a Sound Blaster Live! (usually like a CT4760). And a period correct pc. (Usually a computer around a Pentium III or an early Pentium 4 pc).

Because the actual game is not very fun to suffer through. The story, music and the presentation are great but the battle system has a whole load of "what the hell were they thinking"

@@nikodem123asdf It's really not that bad, its a lot more enjoyable than P1, where you just use autobattle most of the time anyway. And compared to the newer games, its much faster than all of the modern personas and fusion spells act as much more interesting ways of strategizing rather than just brainlessly targeting weaknesses and snowballing your damage that way (even tho that doesnt work on most bosses, making it a pretty underwhelming mechanic)

@@alicemargatroid52 the PSP versions of P2 are not as bad, but playing Eternal Punishment on PS1 is an absolute torture. Everything needs to load, battles take forever and turn order randomizes on each round making it very hard to actually use fusion spells since manually adjusting turn order forces your characters to act after the enemies most of the times.
