Great story, but even greater passion to make it happen. I have a pair and they are awesome boots. Best boot ever and I have had a few 🙂. Recommend them to anyone who is looking for a real and great boot. Best of luck to Hyer and the family in the future. I have no doubt the Hyer legend continues.

What an inspiring story! I'm sure Zach's great great grandfather would've been so proud of him. It's a bit of relief to see that American determination and grit are still alive in this younger generation. Definitely getting me a pair of Heyer boots!

My father, Charles (Chuck) Brunk, was a traveling salesman and a model for Hyer back in late 1950s and 60s. The family home was on East Loula street just up from your grandparents house. When he was younger, in fact, he used to go swimming at your grandparents house! I used to have a Hyer catalog that included pictures of my dad modeling western wear and Hyer boots. I can still remember walking downtown from my grandparents house past the Hyer boot factory building. I wish you much success in continuing a great family heritage.

Just bought my first pair of Hyer Boots. I was so tired of seeing cheap construction and non traditional work boot soles on every western boot in my area. The Hyer boots are awesome.

Ever since hearing your story, I've been waiting to try a pair of Hyer boots. As I'm writing this post, I'm wearing a pair of Hyer Hayes. So far love these boots, this coming from someone who wears cowboy boots almost exclusively.

@@HyerBoots Absolutely agree. My favorite from your current lineup. One suggestion though... I understand why the pull straps are positioned on the inside of the shaft (historical reasons), but I've found it's difficult to use them.

@kr115 The boots we thrifted today have the pull tabs, holes, not tabs, on both sides. Inside reads Olathe Boot Company, Olathe, Kansas! Kansas born and raised, we're so excited to find them today.

I bought a hyre boot in around 1970 at a Denver store don’t remember the store.I was used to wearing custom boots but for a shelf boot they fit very well I’m 76 now but would like to have another pair but I would like to see how they’re made as far as what kind of shank are used and how they are pegged thanks Weldon price in Palisade co.

I will say, I was EXTREMELY impressed with the build quality. Comparing them to Fenoglio or AB that are made in TX...the Hyer brand has found ALL the right partners in Leon, Mexico to resurrect the brand. The build quality is second to none in my opinion, absolutely top notch. I'd like to see them incorporate some tread bottoms, smooth and natural leather colors, and a few more toe shapes, but I think that will come in time.
