Small custom made airplane shop. Wow. It would be nice to have a small mfg shop in the US to make and sell this babies. Assembling is a very tedious task for the average person.

All composite. Single piece fuselage. Tremendous opportunity for speeding up production and have a lighter stronger aircraft that never metal fatigues. Easier to shape too. Sheet and rivet should have died with the titanic. Carbon fiber pays for itself. Just be careful with the health aspect of it. Keep it tight. It's like asbestos.

It's a bit confusing seeing the KAI diagrams for the RIGHT wing when this is a build of the LEFT wing. Otherwise, it's a great video!

Great stuff! What a brilliant little airplane. I flew my Grumman AA1A Joburg to Capetown many years ago and it took me 6 hours IIRC with 2 fuel stops - Bloemfontein and Beaufort West. But the aircraft had less horsepower (108hp) and a cruise speed less than this Sling TSI, of about 110 kts and fuel duration of maximum 4 hours. How things have progressed - congratulations Sling team!

Hi Alan, If Mike and James were to fly down to Cape Town commercially and get themselves an Uber on the other side, this would cost roughly R7,000.00. For the both of them however, flying down in the TSi, it cost R6,300.00 over 4.5 hours.

Essentially it cruises at 155 KTAS in 'Eco-mode' (30 l, 8 gallons per hour) at 7 500 feet. At 17 500 feet it's 175 KTAS. And roughly linear in between. She accelerates, takes off and climbs like a demon!

No. We cheated a bit, to give the idea, with a few seconds of air to air footage we took during the Heritage Day Weekend fly and ride. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5PRp6GJoZqbeZI . That's the only cheat footage in the movie. In the rush we f....up the in-Sling sound!
