Nice KZbin Handle; I've taken Welbutrin daily for over 20 years. You expressed yourself, your experience, and your story very well. It is very difficult to tell a story like yours to a close friend or loved one. It is even more difficult to tell it to a world of strangers. You are very articulate and clearly have a bright mind. Depression commonly afflicts highly intelligent people. Intelligence perceives the world and people around them as they are, shortcomings flaws, and failures. You got it pretty hard right from the start. I imagine you had a difficult time believing there was a better world at all. It is a great step forward to share your story and the sharing will unburden you for a time. I suffered abuse as a child at the hands of a cousin and it was a struggle to let it all just go. Ultimately I shed it all and left that heavy burden behind me. The memory of it is in fact a very heavy burden. That burden will shape you and destroy you if you don't leave it mostly behind. Try to watch the movie "The Mission" (with Robert De'Niro and Jeremy Irons). there is a part where De'Niro's character is carrying his armor and weapons up a waterfall it is a good example of the "Burden." I so wish I could take away all those painful experiences and re-do everything and be your Mom and give you all the love that every child needs. There was never anything wrong with you. You are an amazing, beautiful person. You just didn't get the love you needed. I know getting the love you need will help you heal. So always be sure to put yourself around people who are truly loving and avoid people who are not. That's not always easy, but I think it's especially important and necessary for people who have experienced abuse.
