Thanks for watching and commenting. Some days it feels more like one step forward and two back! As the saying goes "every day is a school day" but I'm defintely moving forward and getting more confident that I will end up with a useable body shell.

Great to see the structure aligned, you must be desperate to put rigidity back into the car. Every step forward takes you to a viable shell 👍

Thanks for your support. Hoping it wont be long before I can weld in that bulkhead and fit the inner sill!

Keep going, a new body shell is £12,600 so hopefully what you're doing will save a chunk of money and still retain some originality.

Just subscribed mate. Your a brave man. Looks like its been well bodged in the past. I always think your better off getting something that's never been repaired no matter how rusty if you can. Keep up the good work you'll get there. Thanks for the videos. I'm currently saving for a mk3 midget.

That’s some serious work you are doing, what you say about making sure the car is straight makes sense, desperately needs metal going back in and bracing… interesting work, keep it up 👍

Thanks. I think I'm enjoying the challenge. I would have preferred to replace a bit at a time rather than remove so much before rebuilding but just about everything on this car had been messed up by previous botched attempts and the door gaps were off before I started so I figured I had nothing to lose. Time will tell if I can straighten it all out I guess!

That’s back to bare bones 😳 finding original reference points appear to be the key to a decent rebuild. Are you a member of MASC, my local Bristol branch are very knowledgable and supportive. If you remember, try landscape, it’s more immersive for the viewer. Keep it up 👍

I'm afraid there's more to come off before I'm done! There arent too many reference points I can trusthence going for a full rear bulkhead and floor in the hope I can square evrything up. I'm not in the MASC but have had some advice on the MGOC forum. Good advice re landscape. I will try to remember in future. Thanks

Cricket!… That’s quite a project you have there. It sounds like the greatest challenge is putting right the bodges applied by previous owners. I have a mkIII 69 that has rust in all the usual places, I’m fortunate in that it is original, rotten but original. If you haven’t seen it already try Robs ‘Restoration Garage’ and ‘Ex Mini Racer’ they do some rebuild of flanges. Your approach looks sound, keep it up 👍

Thanks for the comments and the encouragement. You're right. I foolishly thought having had work done by previous owners might reduce the work I have to do but although the first owner did some decent work around the rear end the last guy totally messed things up. I subscribe to both Rob and Ex Mini Racer and their videos have been really helpful.
