Thank you! I’ve been juggling quite a few things the last few months (moving across the country, writing and publishing 2 books, and prepping for my PhD which begins this Monday to name a few), so, unfortunately, posting videos has fallen through the cracks. I do hope to strike a balance that allows me time to post more. I’ve still been reading so I have a backlog of books that have been finished, I just haven’t found time to do videos on them. Thanks again and I will do my best to post more consistently!

If you have been to seminary or Bible college, did you have to read this book? Did you find it worthwhile? If you haven't been to seminary and don't plan to, would you consider reading this book? Why or why not?

Hello and welcome to book tube. I’m still pretty new to all this malarkey and finding my way around. Look forward to hearing what you have to say. Best wishes with what you choose to read. I hope you get some great stories.

Hi and thank you! This has already been an interesting adventure for me. Despite my enjoyment of books, I never thought I would actually be part of the booktube world. Books had been a major part of my life growing up, but I found that, in recent years, I neglected reading in favor of other things. Booktube and book review blogs are my way to make reading both fiction and nonfiction part of my daily habit. As a more seasoned booktuber, do you have any good advice for a newbie?

If you have read "Kingdom's Dawn," what were your thoughts on it? Is it a book you would recommend to others? If you haven't read it, does this sound like a book you might read? Let me know in the comments!

Update! The plan is to commit to filming only two book reviews each month (one fiction and one nonfiction). As such, this channel is converting into more of a booktube channel than a teaching channel. After doing lots of thinking, I believe that this is the best path for the channel and for my own growth as an author. If I find I have time, I will either occasionally post teaching-focused videos on this channel or, if I can consistently do it, I may create another channel for those videos. Thanks!

He wasn’t a murderer, the verse says he made threats … and murder but he didn’t do the act” because God said one of the unforgivable sins is murder. God wouldn’t use him if he was gonna be a killer
@ljandersonbooks
@ljandersonbooks 8 ай бұрын
So you are saying that Moses was an unforgivable person since he murdered an Egyptian, and so was David since he had Uriah the Hittite killed so he could take his wife? Where does God say that murder is unforgivable? God even forgave King Manasseh after he sacrificed his sons on alters to foreign gods (2 Chronicles 33). Also consider 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is the only sin that the Bible says is unforgivable (Matthew 12:31). The heart of man is what truly matters in regard to sin. If I desire to sleep with a woman who is not my wife, then I have committed adultery even though I never actually slept with her (Matthew 5:27-28). The same is said of murder in the verses prior. If Paul was “breathing threats and murder,” he desired to murder and as such is a murderer in God’s eyes. However, God forgave him of this when he repented. In Christ, Logan

Awesome, can you please give an example of what Blaspheming the Holy Spirit means??
@ljandersonbooks
@ljandersonbooks 7 ай бұрын
@@intheraw6393 I think Hebrews 6:4-6 is a great example of blasphemy of the Spirit. In it, it talks about someone who knew the truth, shared in the Holy Spirit, and tasted the goodness of the word of God who then falls away from God and lives a life against God will get no chance for repentance nor will they seek it. Thus, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is less of a single sin one might commit and more of a hard-heartedness against God. In the case of the Pharisees, this resulted in them saying that the work of the Spirit was actually the work of Satan. I would recommend checking out www.biola.edu/blogs/good-book-blog/2021/what-is-the-unforgiveable-sin-what-is-blasphemy-against-the-spirit for a more in-depth look at this. In Christ, Logan

Do you have any comprehension of Grace?
@ljandersonbooks
@ljandersonbooks Жыл бұрын
I understand grace. What is the problem you have with the video? That I brought up Paul’s history and that somehow negates God’s grace? Paul himself would say, “Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost” (1 Timothy 1:15). Acknowledging his past does not negate God’s grace. On the contrary, it says that even the “foremost” of sinners can come to God and be saved which is one of the greatest examples of grace. Before Christ, I was an idolator and a fornicator. Making that statement does not mean that I have no understanding of grace. Rather, it is my testimony to grace. This video was not about grace. It was answering the question of whether Scripture says Paul was a murderer before Christ called him and he repented, and the evidence says that he was. The fact that he later received the grace of God was beyond the scope of this video.

@@ljandersonbooks Grace is exactly as I have presented it in scripture. Believers are Dead to sin Justified Dead to the law Complete in Christ Holy Temples of God How do we as Believers continue in sin if we are living in the Spirit and Christ indwells us, then how can we have any sin in us? Calling Believers sinners, murderers thieves is calling Christ a liar. Read Romans 6 Romans 8 Ephesians 1 Colossians 1/2/3 all Then All of Paul’s 13 books and see how each starts. What each epistle has to say about Faith in Grace. Your video takes us down yet another rabbit hole when we should shout from the rooftops what Faith provides for Eternity.

Since "Christmas" is Vatican, and the Vatican is of Satan, why would we celebrate something unbiblical. Please find me a verse in the NKJV that supports doing "Christmas". Thanks. September 11, 3BC. Pray about it.
@ljandersonbooks
@ljandersonbooks Жыл бұрын
There are no verses that support "Christmas" in the same way that there are no verses that use the word "Trinity." Despite having no verses that directly state the word "trinity," the Trinity is fully biblical. Similarly, while Christmas is not explicitly taught in Scripture, Christ's birth is prophecied and shown. Celebrating/remembering Christ's birth is not a bad thing in and of itself especially when one looks at the passages that discuss His birth (i.e., Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, Matthew 1, and Luke 1-2). However, I actually am quite sympathetic to the discussion that much of the other stuff that surrounds Christmas probably has pagan origins or is at least secular in origin. This is why I wanted to refocus people on remembering Jesus and looking forward to His return rather than on all the "stuff" that tends to be focused on around Christmas.

The Enlightenment swept through the West. It is atheistic. Christianity was damaged, it's fire quelled. From my viewpoint, it is both logical and appropriate that Christmas is about prosperity and celebration of this life, this earth.
@ljandersonbooks
@ljandersonbooks Жыл бұрын
Yes, from a secular standpoint it makes sense that the focus of Christmas would not be on the birth of Jesus. That said, from a Christian standpoint, the whole purpose of celebrating the holiday in the first place is to reflect on and celebrate the coming of our savior into the world. It is more than a little problematic that Christians seem to have lost this focus and have instead become more secularized ourselves. This video is focused on trying to bring Christians back to the actual reason for the celebration of Christmas.

Many people gloss over the book of Job. That said, Job really is a fascinating person to look at in Scripture. His story provides a beautiful balance to the wisdom found in Proverbs and looks at why a righteous man does not always prosper like Proverbs suggests. What other questions do you have about the life of Job?

This topic was a hard one for me to do in such a short form. Since forgiveness, as demonstrated in Scripture, is vastly different from what most people believe, I can’t really just post this video and leave it. I need to prove what I am saying. Thus, I will be doing a long version of this topic in the near future that digs into what Scripture says. I will link to that video when it’s out. In the meantime, let me know what you think about this video! Thanks for watching!
