Very informative… are you having your second engine laying a second line and working off their truck or are you having that second engine stage on your plug and taking a line to the greatest exposure to check for extension?

@Dbodell800022 күн бұрын
The TV shows are totally glorified crap. Firefighters have it so soft it’s unreal. Paid to sleep on night shifts enormous amounts of time off huge wages for a non educated job only less than 5% of their calls are even fires most of their call are minor are medical aids and in some places they chase along with the Ambulances. Yet a cushy life indeed.

ESF is a merge of Eugene and Springfield. They don't change their customer service but focus what resources they actually need to help the patient.

@ethanhyder4044 could you tell me for sure how many ffs you gonna need on every call, no because you don't know what's really behind that door till you open it up. Better to have the resources rolling and not need them than to need them rolling and not have them to be

@@K_ber1 In an ideal world sure its awesome to have more resources then will probably be needed, but as he says in the vid healthcare was a whole is stretched thin and cant afford to use so many resources if they don't know that they will be needed.

What a fantastic insight into the working life in your position. A very different system to Australia. Here, Fire department and ambulance have always been two separate entities. We don't have EMT level, all emergency ambulance crews are paramedics. Obtaining a Bachelor of Paramedicine is a three year university degree followed by a year as an intern. As you can appreciate, not every firefighter wants to commit to that much study. Ramping is a real issue here too. If you find a solution, let us know. Best wishes and stay safe out there.

My biggest dream since I was little, is to be able to one day travel to you and in particular visit a barracks in your country and to see the operational resources in other countries. I wish you a good day/evening and take care of yourself during intervention ;)

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi les pompiers américains envoient un camion d’incendie sur une urgence médicale alors qu’une ambulance avec 2 ou 3 pompiers dedans suffisent largement.

It stems back to the 20th century when Fire Departments took over ambulance jobs from funeral homes. It's instilled in their culture to have EMS as a part of FD.

Something I’m curious about is how you fit in time to take showers and stuff during the shift. You can’t just assume that you’ll have an hour of free time and then respond to a call when you’re in the shower 😂
