I've already been planning on doing all the weapons in the future. I'd also like to do all removed moves from the whole series but that's gonna take a long time. I could probably do the submissions one relatively soon though.

@@MrLobo1024 realism is whether or not blood will show up. It's best to turn it off if you want a good look at the unmasked faces since Ric Flair's eye gouge usually makes wrestlers bleed.

Like Virtual Pro Wrestling Salvo by RagDas? Yeah! Wrath is actually pretty good. A shame he wasn't included. Apparently in World Tour, he uses the Road Warriors moves and slot.

That is true. That's what did with DDP in Revenge. Anyone who steals his front finisher does a poopy looking Diamond Cutter. I think that's too generous though. Whenever I picked my stolen move, Id pick like an eye rake or something. Clearly that's what a lot of wrestlers did in World Tour. 🤣

There's honestly a whole load of moves that were removed in later games for some reason. It's definitely weird. I guess they thought the animations weren't good enough.

Overall you had the APA, Hardy Boyz, Headbangers, Kaientai, RTC, Dudley Boyz, Edge and Christian, Kane and X Pac, New Age Outlaws, D Lo and Mark Henry, L.O.D, Head Cheese, Too Cool, the Radicalz, the Holly's, T & A, and 2/3 of the bWo. I'm sure there's more but that's a lot of good teams there.

Now that you mentioned it, I kinda see what you mean about the Hell in a Cell. 😂 Title swapping was a strange idea. But two world titles seems tough for WWE to manage properly. Now they have three technically I think.

@beanomac3126 if you want another example, look up SCAW Dark December 2008 and watch the main event. Well, the NXT title rarely ever leaves the brand. Only brief show ups to the main roster. I know Kevin Owens debuted on the main while he was NXT champion and Dolph Ziggler became NXT champion for a few weeks, transitional champion deal then dropped it back to Bron Breaker. The WWECW title, same deal, rarely ever left the brand. Notable moment was when Bobby Lashley got drafted from ECW to Raw as champion but they quickly vacated the belt since the ECW title has to stay on it's brand

I think in general there would be one World Title, and then a Raw and SD belt. It makes the most sense to me.

@@beanomac3126 it almost happened one time. I think it was in 06 or 07 when John Cena was the first draft pick for Raw and he was the WWE champion and Batista was the World Heavyweight champion and Raw had both titles on their show but before the draft ended, Batista got drafted to Smackdown.

Didn't know they was commentary in Def Jam. Or that it was an EA partnership.

@beanomac3126 Yes EA Sports Big got AKI to do WCW Mayhem 2 which was going to be a Revenge sequel directly after No Mercy. Vince bought WCW and all contacts were cancelled. EA gave AKI 8 months to take what they had and make it into Def Jam Vendetta. World Famous New York DJ FunkMaster Flex did commentary and scratched over submissions. Some of the same sound people from WCW Mayhem worked on Def Jam Vendetta. Def Jam Fight for NY has a different commentator. Not sure about Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover on PSP. Either way all these games have that same AKI engine gameplay just like the Ultimate Muscle games for PS2 and GameCube. Those were published by Namco/Bandi. AKI worked on some Yakuza games for PSP but I dunno much about them.

That's awesome. Too bad we never got Mayhem 2 though. It's a shame AKI never got another chance at WWE games either. Now it seems they're not even really around.

@beanomac3126 Yea but the Def Jam and Ultimate Games are fun consolations. AKI pitched a TNA game to Rockstar but they didn't see how it would make money, according to Sanders Keel podcast interviews. Then their CEO went to Nintendo to pivot to Style Savvy and Fashion Dreamer games for the 3DS and now Nintendo Switch now under the name syn Sophia. Omega visited their office before AEW made Fight Forever and only one person was still there from their wrestling days. A Square Enix contact game him former AKI game director Geta info and along with Yuke's main team and a handful of former AKI guys they made Fight Forever which feels like a hybrid of No Mercy, Day of Reckoning and the Smackdown/SVR style.

I see. Sad to see where AKI has gone to. At least it sounds like a good chunk of the team is back to making wrestling titles though. I think it was Midway though who made the TNA game right?

@@huyle-mp1hq yeah, the Great Muta has his own reversal system called Heel I believe. Its pretty awesome. I can't remember if it was in the original VPW64 as well. The only thing is, it seems like I can never get a good view of the reversal.

@@PETEYTHECLOWN I've never heard of that honestly. The longest my matches have gone in for is probably 10 minutes. Even in the highest difficulties the matches never take longer than 10. But then again, I don't play with friends either.

They were restored in a Romhack called Virtual Pro Wrestling Salvo. I think there's even more cancelled names that we can't decipher but they have data left over for as well.

Yeah that sounds pretty crazy. I don't remember ever losing the triple threat match. Or ot Booker and Kurt. I would just always restart the match as a kid. Sounds like one of those things where you had to do a million things in Mario 64 to play as Luigi or something. 🤣

I've heard of games that require 100% completion for the true ending. I think that's how the original Crash worked. What's Sea of stars?

I knew about the nitro set, but not Rey's Mask. Why not just have another character like Wolfpac Sing? Also the Nitro set is exclusive to PS1 despite the code claiming it works on N64. 😂

Yeah, I few a memories like that when I was young. I remember playing GH3 in the Wii and would do Guitar Battles with my older brother and his friend. They would like to use the power button on the remote to turn of the console in the middle of songs for laughs. 😂 Not fun at the time though.

I'm an AKI guy through and through. But I was always fan of those WWF Acclaim games. But I understand why folks weren't into them.

Wrestling games in general were just hot at that point. Anything WCW or WWF at that time would sell pretty good. Especially on PlayStation.

There's a lot of games I loved that others hated likely because I had to enjoy it due to not being able to get games often.

I loved Warzone and Attitude as well. I'm assuming you were a PlayStation kid from the sound of your games. I remember being jealous of the WWE 2K games on PS4, then I played one and didn't feel so bad. 🤣

@ I had the 64 and I started with world tour. I just wasn’t the kid that got the games he wanted so I had to enjoy what I got. I got attitude on 64 and I remember my friend gave me revenge. So at least I had revenge 😂 I got the ps1 later on and had smackdown 2. And the 2k games are very hit or miss. I do like the features and large amount of match variety. I just hate that they strongly focus on single player modes instead of multiplayer. For me the most fun will always be playing with your friends, not playing against AI.. and the online is dog sh*t 😂

I don't like those 2k games but I do feel for the developers. I think the state of the games would be the same even if THQ were still on board. Releasing legendary annual games just isn't realistic anymore. Let alone ones that are buggy messes. They have so many masters to please and decades of great wrestling games to compete against. The community creations is the best creation option ever. I'm not a fan of the realistic match style, but it definitely sounds like a lot of people don't want to return to a previous style. Graphics are usually great. Unfortunately single player content is what most companies focus on nowadays. I'll be honest though, single player is usually why I pick up a game.
