The TB-03 sounds so blatantly digital. No bite, no warmth, no depth. Just another awfully planned toy from Roland. Why not reverse engineer the analogue circuits like Behringer? They could have charged $1000+ and folks would have bought it for the Roland name.

I once had the tb03 but sold it shortly after because of the metallic sounding on the high frequencies. It is also too sterile and gets annoying really quick when played solo. I got myself a tb303 instead and these problems are gone now. The only disadvantages of the original is the lack of usb/midi connection the neverending search for the right tuning ..and of corse the shitty sequencer.

The Roland is missing a little of that bite and grit at the top of the filter sweep. It also sounds pre-compressed to me. They both sound cool though.

Thanks for the video with 03! To my ears they sound very similar, at some point TD-3 has more high end (I'm not expert on this). Yesterday I put my 03 through BD-2 overdrive and sounds much better than on-board overdrive. TD-3 distortion is interesting also. Since TD-3 is not avail now, it is good to see such videos.

It's hard to actually compare like this, unless you have some control that lets you play either L or R channel.

Hi, temps are around 34 to 38 degrees. With the stock fans they were 30 to 34, so the drop isn't that bad. :)

I recognize that areca beep =P. what is the temp now? Areca web interface or CLI should be able to list temps.
