Johnny Lang is one of the most soulful blues guys out there. I met him briefly in Memphis back when he was first gaining popularity. I was volunteering at the Blues Awards show at the Orpheum Theater. My job was to coral a few presenters to be ready at stage side to walk out and present. I noticed JL kind of hanging back in the shadows. I walked up said hi and how much I liked his music etc. I probably scared the crap out of him as I'm 6'6". He was probably 16-17 yes old at the time, real quiet and a gentleman. Glad he's healthy and still making music!

JL and EG prodigious talents at such a young age. I imagine difficult times, but ya both - seem to have "pulled through" OK? Fantastic to see them both wailing and having a great time - imo. Fire! is right - go & keep going, gee tar-slinging brothers. Love it. It would be great to hear more of JL - haven't heard new stuff in many years - maybe it's geographical, IDK. Anyway, Thanks for posting BB.

Amazing!. Fan of both. I saw a duel like this from back in 1984 where Eddie Van Halen bowed to Mark Knopfler and his quick finger picking that somehow, was faster than Eddie that day. Love friendly duels. I put down the sax and trumpet 35 years ago after watching the "Crossroads" guitar duel (and hearing SRV for the first time solo).

Thank you!!!! I can't find this anywhere online, other than where it's clipped from (youtube concert). No lyrics. So I've figured out some of the lyrics. This guy brings me to my knees! So graceful yet raw, soft yet powerful, broken yet strong..... Every contradiction! Oh Mama, by Ray Lamontagne... Oh Mama don't walk away. I’m a God-damned soul and I ain’t too proud to say that I’m still thinking about you and I’m so lonesome without you and I can’t get you out of my mind. Oh Mama, don't leave me alone with my soul shut down so tight it’s like a stone-cold tomb. Ain’t it clear when I’m near you I’m still dying to hear you calling my name one more time. Oh now don’t pay no mind to my watering eyes. Must be something in the air that I'm breathing. Yes, and try to ignore all this blood on the floor. It’s just this heart on my steel that’s bleeding. Oh, Mama, don't walk. Just leave me here reeling from the words so hard (?) saying the love that we had it was just selfish and sad. It’s good to see you now with him. It is just making me mad. Oh Mama, kiss me again just to prove to me that you care. I was standing and burning, listening (?).

Hold your head high. Sorry I am biased .. I deserve you. You are way too good to be true.. you endured a lot of mean selfish behaviour.. where I come from I will cherish you forever.. thx for facing the tough and honourable route.. so difficult and expensive. You are so respected for enduring the opposition.. pls hang tough .. you can’t be manipulated any more.. I want to be your puppy love. I have paid the price without you.. love finds a way !!😘❤️

A good rendition and interesting arrangement of a truly great tune by Jimmy Hall. The lyrics are as on point today as they were when the tune was released almost 50 years ago and that repeating riff and guitar lead are perfect. This is a very well crafted tune. It has had a very special meaning to me ever since I heard it when it was released in the early-mid 70’s when I was in high school. It is my warm-up when I play, but I never can do it as well as it should be done, but it does convey the theme I strive to live by, but never seem to achieve. I
