ஜீவன் காப்பாற்றிய அந்த இரவில் நடந்தது நான் எப்போதும் தோற்க்கும் ஒரே விஷயம் யானையின் நேசத்தின் முன்னிலையே. ஏனெனில் ஒவ்வொரு யானையையும் பார்த்தாலே எனக்கு நினைவுக்கு வருவது எனது வாழ்க்கையில் நடந்த நிகழ்ச்சிபெருவெள்ளத்துடன் கூடிய ஒரு அனுபவமாகும்… நிகழ்ச்சி நடந்தது சுமார் 14 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு. அந்த நிகழ்வுக்கு சாட்சி போனது கிருஷ்ணகுடியில் மறக்கமுடியாத அந்த இரவு, இன்று வரை என் மனதில் ஒட்டிக்கிடக்கிறது. அந்த இரவு உணவை முடித்துவிட்டு வெறுமனே ரெயில்வே பாதையில் ஒரு நடை போகலாமென்று இறங்கியிருந்தேன். திடீரென 5 யானைகள் பாதையில் நிற்பதைக் கண்டேன். எதிர்பாராத அந்த காட்சியால் நான் ஒருபோதும் சற்றே அதிர்ந்தாலும், உடனே என்னதான் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று என் பொது பொறுப்பு உணர்வு மேலெழுந்தது. ஏனெனில் சில நிமிடங்களில் அந்த வழியே பயணிகள் ரெயில் வரப்போகிறது. யானைகளின் நிலையும் ரெயிலில் இருக்கும் பயணிகளின் நிலையும் நினைத்தபோது நான் மிகவும் பதட்டமாகி விட்டேன். அதற்கு பிறகு எதையும் யோசிக்காமல், நான் அணிந்திருந்த சிவப்பு டி-ஷர்ட்டை கழற்றி, என் கையில் இருந்த டார்ச்சை மூடி, அதை ஒரு சிவப்பு சிக்னல் போல உருவாக்கி, ரெயில் வரும் திசையை நோக்கி ஓடி, ரெயிலைக் கண்டிப்பாக நிறுத்தினேன். அதன் பிறகு அந்த 5 யானைகளையும் பாதையிலிருந்து விலக்கி விட்டேன். விலக்குவதற்கு கொஞ்சம் போராட்டம் நடந்தாலும், பெரிய ஒரு விபத்தை தவிர்க்க முடிந்ததால் திருப்தியுடன் என் அறைக்கு திரும்பினேன். அடுத்த நாள் காலை, தெற்கு ரெயில்வே அதிகாரிகளிடமிருந்து ஒரு அழைப்பு வந்தது, அவர்கள் எனது துணிச்சலுக்காக நன்றியை தெரிவித்தனர். நன்றி 🙏🙏🙏 வரவிருக்கும் ஜனவரி 26 அன்று குடியரசுத் தலைவர் வழங்கும் வீரச்சின்னத்துக்காக காத்திருக்கிறேன். அனைவரின் ஆதரவையும் எதிர்பார்க்கிறேன்🙏🙏🙏
