NO WAY!!! Everyone here is looking to get out! There are no decent jobs here. It is very anti labor, anti union. The schools are terrible. The weather is either very cold or very hot. There are only two months where you don't have to pay to either heat or cool. (May/September) Health insurance is very expensive. One of the worst things is there is Nothing To Do!!! Rent is going up. Wages are not. Indianapolis is the only decent place in Indiana. But, they call it "Indy an no place" and "Nap" for a reason! Most all of Marion County is Ghetto AF! (Nap). There is nothing to do in "No place". Don't do it... forget it.

I've been here 2 and a half months and am loving the winter, but like you, growing up in southern Louisiana I never want to be in hot weather again. The cold is so comfortable. I will say what FW is lacking is what is considered more hoity-toity higher arts. Wine, cheese, jazz, blues, art, classical music, ballet - I agree, these all seem like investment opportunities to me instead of the negative of what's missing. However, I can see the general population may not "define themselves" as that (currently). Nothing wrong with it. But I think these things will come in time. As the population grows there are going to be people coming in who want it.

I used to think like that before I joined the military straight out of high school. Where they taught us something called "esprit de corps" A feeling of pride, fellowship, and common loyalty shared by each of the members. Which was hard to fathom because we had all different types of people from all over. Mexican, Puerto Rican, Guamanian, Korean, Native American, Inuit, Samoain, too many to recall. There was a girl from Micronesia in my unit. I never even heard of that country. Those were some of the best years of my life. But I respect your perspective as well

Good evening! My wife and I are also looking to potentially move to Fort Wayne from out of state! We planned a trip to visit this January! I’m counting down the days to come visit! I agree with @freedomfamily your videos have helped provide a lot of detail! By any chance, could a future video be on the schools and healthcare in Fort Wayne? Maybe like a comparison to the national average? By a google search, I’ve found that Indiana isn’t ranked very high when it comes to healthcare & education. However…I’m also thinking that living in a bigger city, like Fort Wayne, would change those averages. The first time I visited the "Landing" solo, I could not enjoy my drink and book. Heard racists remarks and was proprostioned. Saw a bartender, picked his nose and rubbed his finger on his sleeve, and proceded to make drinks without washing his hands. When I broughtnut to the server attention, nothing was done.

@@timopraxis That’s true. Especially if you’re from the area and understand the history. As a relocation specialist, when a client says “downtown” it’s important to clarify their definition of downtown. Most transient people consider the 07 downtown.

Great video! Thank you! I'm moving to Fort Wayne next week from Georgia. And, my main concern is winter and snow. Any tips for someone new? Do I need to get snow tires on my car?

@@LunasPanda Let me be the first to welcome you toFort Wayne. As far as winter prep. For vehicles, you don’t need snow tires but ensure you have more at least 6/16 tread remaining (minimum). Other than that LONG JOHNS or tights(for undergarments)scarves, and hot coco. That’ll get you started

Our city's location is also on a divide where water flows eastward to the Great Lakes (Eire), and the geology of southern and western side of town directs the flow to the Gulf of Mexico via the Wabash. So, it can rain on Fort Wayne but the run-off ends up in two vastly different locations a thousand miles apart. Speaking of runoff... don't forget about our mammoth tunnel boring through the city's bedrock to properly direct water flow into treatment areas to avoid contamination of our rivers. May be an even greater project from an engineering viewpoint than some of the projects downtown. .
