I have been to Barra twice by plane and ferry, l would recommend flying. Great place to just relax, time slowed as soon as you arrive. Just go for a week it will feel like 2 weeks but in a good way. We stayed in a cottage with a coal fire no TV, sitting watching the fire flickering listening to music or reading. Great time.

Sounds incredible! I would definitely like to spend more time in the Outer Hebrides during Spring/Summer sometime. However, I won’t be as lucky as during this trip where there were no tourists other than myself!

Thanks chap, I enjoyed this. Lived at North Front three years in the mid-80s during military service. Revisited as a civvy in 2008. So much has changed physically, but the important things remain the same. A proud, passionate and friendly people, a real mix of cultures. Gibraltar could teach the World a thing or too about 'race' relations. Fine memories Gibraltar, I really must revisit soon.

Great info guys! When you boarded the boat did you leave your baggage at a hotel ? Thankyou in advance.
@travellingwithrobbie Жыл бұрын
Thank you! When you reach the port you leave large luggage where you check-in. This ends up being taken straight to your cabin. The check-in area was a large lounge and cafe below a hotel.

I'm flying up there in September, your video was very informative thank you. I'm staying in Castlebay too, is it easy to find your way around?
@travellingwithrobbie Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah Castlebay is pretty small (more like a village) so easy to walk around. If you use Google/Apple Maps I would suggest saving a map of the area for use offline as mobile signal wasn’t good. There is a bus service going around the island and one over towards Vatersay but they are very infrequent. Bike may be a good option to get around if you didn’t want to walk. It took me about an hour and a half to walk from Castlebay to Vatersay Church.

@travellingwithrobbie Жыл бұрын
Only certain ones do at the moment. All A350-1000s will have QSuite but not all A350-900s do. You can normally tell if you have QSuite or not by looking on the seat map after you’ve booked

@@deandashingly872 we were delayed 30 minutes out of Glasgow, but the weather cleared up enough to enjoy the beach landing. Missed the bus into Castlebay, so I climbed over the dunes to walk the Atlantic facing beach with maybe four other people, to await the flight back to Glasgow. I bought a "Beach Landing" certificate to mark the trip. It was a brilliant experience.

Hi Robbie , Loved your video on Gibraltar it looks wonderful , was thinking of going and booking the Holiday inn hotel , is the hotel near everything ? Thanks David
@travellingwithrobbie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! The Holiday Inn is about 15 minute walk to the main square in the town (Casemates Square) or the airport, so I think it’s well-located but far enough away to be quiet. There is a bus stop outside which can take you into the town, or down the east coast towards Sandy Bay. If you do make it there - enjoy! 🇬🇮

Hi from New Jersey, USA. Great video. You're adorable. This reminded me of my trip on Qatar Business Class back in 2018, pre-pandemic. I experienced the Q-suite on one flight and the older Business Class seat on another flight. The Q-suite is absolutely the best for privacy, and even sitting facing the rear was actually fun. The service was great, the flight attendants were extremely attentive, friendly, and seemed happy to be doing their jobs. I appreciate that your video is simple, with some natural background sounds. Keep on travelin'!
