If you have a mother like the Pei brothers you need no enemys. She hates her oldest son and put her guilty conscience the marriage of her son and daugther in law as a n attack on her. It's her fault not that from those two. She sees her son as the enemy cuz she had a postpartum depression and halluzination, tryed to kill him serval times. The younger son is spoilt to that extend that he isn't able to study medicine on his self, he isn't relational at all cuz of that what his mother did. He is her savior she thinks and made it worse for him too. The mother of Jing Qiao is the same as the Pei brothers mother. She spoils the little brother of the neck of her daugther, recless if she is happy or not. The stepfather is a fool... The best is the casting of grandma and granddaughter, this two women matched optical perfect. In this play is the granny really sweet. The most in c-dramas is violence against women and/or they get bullied. It's disgusting! But it's a China and Asia problem in reallife and you can see that on the birthrate there (worldwide the lowest has South Korea), high education, violence, bullying against women, contract marriages, more man than woman in the most countrys there (4% = 30 million of Chinese men aren't able to marry cuz of rare livingspace, not much money and so on).

Why doesn’t the father question why the fake mother mistreats the little girl so viciously? Logical people would call the police on her for child abuse. Perhaps Chinese men are truly dumb, I, have lost interest in Chinese men, they lack humanity. Again, the writers represent some of their medial professionals as corrupt.

I get the sweet innocent FL and the strong rich ML scenario but this is just ridiculous. Wow. Innocent and stupid? How many times is the ML going to give the FLs family money after they have abused her? How many times is the FL going to keep going back knowing these people abuse her every time she’s around them? Innocent does not mean you’re stupid. 48 minutes into this and I can’t take it anymore. Won’t waste my time watching her being constantly abused. Maybe it gets better as the story progresses but I’m still gonna pass.

Writers are so messy. Story seem super unrealistic and all over the place. The dad kept the little girl alive just to have her kill him. Makes no sense, how many how bad parents are, kids usually don’t want their parent’s dead. And the little girl specifically ask to witness the execution of her own father.
