I learnt Cantonese in Hong Kong for six years in my twenties, afraid my dad never taught me, and never have I found anyone who can teach it this well to a person whose mother tongue is English. Great job!

Given usually 1-3 is high tone and 4-6 is lower tone. Hard to swallow. Tone 1 and 4 is special as it is grouped in the last 2-3000 years as flat 平 for poem construction. I understand might be for learning and hearing this can be … but … But tone 2-5 are both raising no doubt. Also 1, 3 and 6 is the tone group for entering sound.

As a vietnamese I thought the tones would directly correlate with vietnamese tones seeing as sometimes when I hear cantonese people talk it almost sounds like they're speaking vietnamese. But not quite there's a bit of a difference

Now I understand the Cantonese accent a bit better. "Listen" to me is a 1 + 3. Tone 6 sounds too low for the second syllable. But I think most Cantonese people do make it too low.

I think because everyone has bo1 (maybe not huge but somewhat) and nin1 regardless of what is between the legs, and working class culture in ancient times rarely cover the top, it's only a few hundred years ago we started covering the top. So maybe it's not as taboo as the below Also making baby / releasing excrement is mainly the bottom part too, top part is at most the moms feeding milk, not as taboo as now for some reason. At least from what I see in western and Indian culture, especially India, UK, and USA, now only top is covered. Ancient India and current south/east european countries, toplessness is normal. I think 女 is originally from the Oracle bronze drawing of 人with breast (might be related to 母), then two breast become one and then 女。so it seems like boobs were seen as just another human thing linked to moms, rather than dirty / sexy (vs like cao in mandarin or kan in hokkien, 草,干 where there's a lot of different ways to write and hide the meaning since people have been censoring it and other people have been going around the censoring)
