This video neglected to cover the three-phase reclosers found on distribution poles. This is an omission that should not have been. The recloser is a fundamental safety feature for electric distribution. It also omits the secondary wire that takes the stepped down electricity to the end user (residential/business).

Then why is my power company changing out the new meters saying they are not reading properly. This is happening all over my county.

The thing that isn't taken into account with meter testing is the effects of line harmonics on the current sensors. Since modern homes in 2023 have switching power supplies and inverters driving many appliances, gadgets, etc they generate ALOT of dirty power. Even the meter itself does this as its often equipped with a switching supply itself. On a perfect wave form test bench the meter may behave withon tolerance but subject it to the noise of a typical neighborhood power grid and you get meter accuracy problems often resulting in gross overcharging of the customer. Unless you isolate tthe grid tie points with separate isolation transformers and employ in house isolation, filtering or swap out all switch mode supplies to linear this will be a huge problem.

As an extension of the AEP Talent Acquisition Team, this video is actively being shared with prospective candidates we are reaching out to, to "hear" what existing employees are saying about AEP. There are corporate positions we are actively recruiting for, across all functional areas of the business, that support the teams you are learning about through this video.

Bullshit, after monitoring the meter and then decreasing the load incrementally the meter didn't register a change at all. In fact the meter reading at the end of the month after decreasing the load by 1000w on a 24 hr basis the meter only showed a small difference, not any different than the monthly difference evidenced on my bill over time. What is more disturbing is that the meter wasn't consistent, it actually increased usage after it had registered a lowering from the decreased demand. This appears to be an averaging scam that allows the power company to charge whatever they feel is an average and further have the capability to disconnect customers from the grid remotely. Further I purchased components to establish off grid power and now am powering portions my usage on that system. It is discrete and has nothing to do with the grid at all. It will be interesting to see what the results of those decreases in usage are.

Innovation?? AEP, is a third-world company that provides a third-world service at an American premium. This company can’t even keep the power up and running during good weather. It’s despicable. Never in my life in America have I seen such rolling blackout Communist block bullshit.
