Does the acetone melt the texture away completely or not? Ive heard conflicting advice about this from different sources. Also, do you have any advice for this problem I am having with Gel X -- everytime i have tried it so far they are falling off within HOURS of application no matter how well i prep the natural nail. Ive tried two different LED lights and a few different tips (not fully clear ones, but ones that are see through nude ones that come with the Ardelle brand kit & that the light can absolutely get through to cure the gel glue. Why are they coming off? Theyre straight up just peeling off! I prep my nails by shaping, filing, buffing, prepping the cuticles and then finally right before applying i dehydrate by wiping down with a cottonball dampened with a splash of acetone and then let them sit for a moment for any acetone on the surface to be fully evaporated. Then i apply the gel X according to instructions. I do a flash cure and then cure for up to 2 whole minutes.

It may be the products you're using, trial and error. I recommend a builder gel. I'm not truly a fan of colored tips they would peel off on me . Also, apply base coat cure for 60s abd then go in with your builder to adhere the gel tip

Arent you just melting the grooves you put in the nail with the sand block when you drag the acetone down? Because the point of the acetone is to melt the gel near the cuticle area so it’s melting out the grooves isn’t it?

The texture doesn't completely disappear, the acetone melts the gel on the surface. The texture is deep in the nail. If done incorrectly it will melt off the tips and the texture will disappear ✨️
