Okay, pronounce it how you like, no one seems to agree! I've always pronounced it "why gel uh" so I'm going with the "why gee luh." Thanks for the video!

0:25 he's an idiot, it's not too-MEHR-ick nor is it TUMOR-ick tur-mer-ic
Feel like all the oldheads used to pronounce it (in-tig-grol), then somewhere in the past 10-20 years, the pronunciation flipped and now everyone puts a hard emphasis on the second part (in-TEG-grol). I won't go around correcting people since I recognize that the English language evolves over time. I just find it funny that there was such a hard switch. Now I literally never hear it the first way anymore.

American pronunciation is just wrong, and nothing short of an excuse to murder the latin language !

Erwin Schrödinger was born in Germany. The last name is German. Like many last names it comes from a trade (like "Smith" or "Locke"). A "Schrder" makes textiles (by "shredding" the wool). The "-inger" is how Germans add in the "one who does". For those of you who have heard of a "fishmonger" or a "cheesemonger" (one who sells) in English, that comes from this same German root. Anyway, if we put that all together, it's "shroid" (rhymes with "steroid") plus "-ingah", with the emphasis on the "shroid" for the same reason you emphasize "cheese" in "cheesemonger".

The Koreans made the pronunciation easier to understand. Why are people making it harder to pronounce? It’s 태 (teh) 권 (gwun) 도 (doh). Why are people getting it wrong? I get it that people are teaching it wrong too, but why aren’t people fixing those websites too? Can’t they have a person have the people teaching it to take a class on how to pronounce foreign words? People are teaching the pronunciation all wrong now!

Skutian is actuaally correct. Σκυθης = Skutes. If you said the word they waythey pronounce it to Herodotus he wouldnt know what you were talking about. The modern English way to pronounce it is just wrong.

Pretty sure its either Ah-nee-us or uh-NAY-es. Definately not A-nee-us. This mistake may have been made early on and copied ever since. Similar to the mispronounciation of menaLAus in the movie 'Troy'. Telemachus is another name often debated.
