You probably could have popped most of those out if use some tension and pull the line back and release it. Works more often than not.

I literally had to argue with them over this. They were trying to police the forestry part and kick people out. The guy had an attitude and I had to shut him up. Also informed many others they were kicking out of this same thing.

@@babel87420 They allow grilling at the park but they don't like it right there along the lake. I guess they do have spots really close to it that you could do it

@@Cjdklh they're still trying to pull some stuff every now and then, but now they're just jacking up the prices on customers. It's kind of sad that they have to be that greedy just to create a good fishery. I know fish are expensive now but they are definitely going for profit over experience. It's The way fishing in Southern California is going

@@TroutWest agreed 100% $75 a night for camping is ridiculous. I get the yearly pass for $250 to launch my boat, but the marina is closed on tue-wed and their hours suck. Close at 430 when it gets dark at 7 or later. Kind of a joke really, but its 10 minutes from my house and the next closest lake is diamond valley.

Silver 1/4oz Kastmasters were deadly way back when....might be different no but worth it a try.

For North Lake best baits I always used we're silver 1/4oz Kastmaster or Guide's Choice salmon egg clusters on a size 14 or 16 treble. Other color Kastmaster lures just never worked for me here. Using the Waterbubble-2lb leader is a great option too

Good question .... I typically hook them near the middle... And leave quite a bit of hook exposed using only #8 or # 10 mosquito hooks.

Yeah, you want to go right through the middle so the point comes out of the middle also, then move the bait down toward the eyelet of the hook about Midway down the hook shaft.

Lead by weight is far more expensive. Scrap value of lead is 50 cents a pound while steel is like 8 cents a pound. Even stainless is like 30 cents a pound. Lead weights should be illegal to use and sell. We don't need that stuff in our food chain.

Wonder if color patterns hold across baits or if they are bait specific. Ex. If yellow crawlers are working does that usually mean yellow power eggs work as well?

I would say yeah, the color would probably hold across baits. There might be a preference on the shape of the bait.... But for the most part I believe they look for colors and scent

Kinda disappointed in the size fish. Yucaipa usually has some nice size fish. I think the majority of us would agree to pay more at these parks if they stocked more fish and increased the size they stock

I agree on the amount they stock but they’re for sure putting in bigger fish from calaveras. A lot of 3-4 pounders were caught the weekend after the recent stock

Thanks for the video. I don't remember fishing there as a young girl. I do remember fishing Lytle Creek as a girl. Mom would read when the stocked and she would take me up there. We would always bring home fish and Dad would be surprised when we had trout for dinner that same night.

Use them a lot, just not at Big Bear. I don't prefer hookup baits. I use Southern pro or Berkeley jigs modified with power worms.
