I like this piece, and the clear typesetting, but am curious why the registrations have been adjusted from from Whitlock's original. The original suggestion for the solo melody was Horn (or Flute) 8'. Many of us are used to making appropriate adjustments to suit the instrument ... but a lot of English organs are far more likely to have a suitable 8' stop than a Cornet!

Hi Benjamin, this piece was recorded on a French organ that had a particularly fine 8’ Cornet which it seemed a shame not to take full advantage of. When following the link through to any of my sheet music to purchase, there is a caveat on each one regarding registrations: “The included registration is only a suggestion and is left entirely to the organist’s discretion depending on the specification of the instrument.” Regards, Aubrey

@@AubreyTucker if I’m not mistaken, Cornet comprises five ranks at 8, 4, 2 2/3, 2 & 1 3/5 ft. Yes: the obvious thing is to use your ears and do what sounds best. There’s another recording where John Challenger uses what sounds to me like a Diapason for the solo.

Hello Aubrey. I liked your work and I have a request. Could you post the accompaniment of the duet “den tod niemand zwingen kunnt ”? From j s Bach cantata BMV 4. We are a group of amateur singers and we would like to sing it. In the YT VitallyGR posted this duet and sounds wonderful. Thank you for the consideration.

Thanks so much for your continued work with these arrangements. Everything here is fantastic; I love the slightly dissonant harmony in the bass clef and your choice of stops. Many thanks and keep it up.

Hi Aubrey, I have a request for you - Could you arrange 'Thou Visitest the Earth' by Maurice Greene for solo organ? It's one of my favourite hymns and just sounds fantastic in soft woodwind registration. Wonderfully bouncy little tune. Will happily contribute to the channel!
