Love old buildings, too, and to find them "still standing". If these walls could talk, the stories they could tell....the rich history of The Yukon. I always love visiting Whitehorse and all its amenities; I think a lot of Canadians and tourists from around the world are quite taken aback when they visit Whitehorse and what it has to offer. Thanks Taiga for another great video of "your city"....beautiful Whitehorse❤👏❤

Not only was this a great, informative video for snowshoe athletes/users, but the scenery of the beautiful Yukon Territory takes my breath away. Looks like that fresh snow is fantastic for snowshoe practice in preparation for competition in the Arctic Winter Games happening in Alaska this year. Good luck Taiga in your snowshoe competition and to all of Team Yukon athletes. Thanks for posting this video, Taiga. Oh my gosh, you are so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of Canada. I did hear the RR truss was remade. Not sure how I feel about that. I have to admit it was cool. I do recall its a short drive from Skagway where a huge amounts of people are pulled from cruise ships. We did it with another couple, rented a jeep and spent the day bumming. Crossing back in to Alaska was fun.. NOT.

What happened there?!
@TaigaoftheYukon Жыл бұрын
Not too certain, but I've heard that the owners passed away and unfortunately nobody took care of it. The Yukon wilderness is quite harsh and ruthless so even just a decade of no upkeep can put buildings in disrepair.

Actually PRIVATE property... was abandoned by previous (original) owners family and locals took it upon themselves to 'claim' anything worth stealing, and leaving the house open to the elements and wildlife to destroy. (hence the torn out door frame to the bathroom. someone wanted the shower enclosure) Three wood stoves were taken and the chimney pipes were left open for the snow and rain to destroy the structure...
@TaigaoftheYukon Жыл бұрын
@@shiroumakai Thanks for the clarification. I've always wondered why such an amazing property was abandoned. It's too bad that it was ravaged by scavengers, but also the rugged forest and wildlife of the Yukon. Such a beautiful part of the world, vast and filled with history.
