I had a tow out situation that tore up my front tires. After rotating the tires and watching some alignment videos, I chose this method. So far, it seems to work great. Wish I would have done it before I tore up my tires.

And it still has camber, as well as toe issues. Didnt catch the toe until you showed the right side again.
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff6 күн бұрын
It is lowered so there is going to be some camber still. As far as the toe goes, it's the body lines. Guy that did an alignment on it thought the samething. Rear toe was well within spec though.
@twiztid6646 күн бұрын
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff am I wrong camber can still be adjusted even though lowered?
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff6 күн бұрын
You're not wrong. With the factory camber adjustments there is a limit to how much you can adjust. If you buy like aftermarket adjustable control arms, adjustable ball joints or pillow top mounts for the struts though, you can adjust your camber pretty much wherever you want regardless of how low it is. In my case, it's lowered like 1.5" or something like that and I don't have anything else to adjust camber with other than the factory eccentric bolts. So I am limited on how far it can go.
@twiztid6646 күн бұрын
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff right on. I'm new to suspension. Literally just bought a durango hellcat that had lowering springs on it, with major camber issues. Trying to learn all I can before jumping into the aftermarket rear control arms and front camber plates.

Okay what if the back tire was out of alignment then how are you going to do the front
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff6 күн бұрын
This is for if you have recently done front suspension work and can't make it in for an actual alignment for a bit. This can help you make it so your alignment is close enough to still be able to drive your vehicle. If your rear alignment is off, this isn't for you.

DEPENDS UPON THE TRACK DIMENSION. Only works if front and back track are exactly the same.

My steering wheel is crooked now but then again on of my tires was bald from the inside is that the casue or can anyone wxplain
@MidwestAmericanDadStuffАй бұрын
If your tire is bald on the inside, that means that either the wheel is toe'd out slightly (front of the wheel pointing away from the body of vehicle) or there is too much negative camber ( top of the tire angles into the body) from worn ball joints or worn out struts.

Because of your excellent video, I did exactly the same thing with silicone today with a carrier bearing on my 2000 dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Dually with 225,000 miles. It worked perfectly and should be good for another year or so even though I bought a new bearing which I will carry with me with tools in case it fails but I think it’ll be OK for a long time.

You have to hammer those extractor sockets on to get enough purchase to break them loose. If the proper size doesn’t fit then go to the next smallest size and pound it on right
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff9 ай бұрын
Bolt was so rounded, the 8mm extractor just slide right over it. 7mm was too small still. So I would have ended up having to do what I did anyway.
@deeeyewhy59499 ай бұрын
That is one of those bastardly small sizes. I have the $24 amartisan set from Amazon it’s about 13 pieces but I don’t think it goes smaller than 8mm. I would probably have tried some aggressive water pump pliers before this but this is a good option depending on the circumstances. With a bolt smaller than 10mm I don’t see corrosion getting it any tighter than 25 lbs/ft at which point it’s more likely you’ll snap the bolt than get it loose. I recently had some super rusted in rear caliper slide pins whoever did the brakes last put no slide pin lubricant on and I rounded them out. Had to take the whole bracket and caliper piston assembly off to hammer the bolt biters on with enough purchase so that they wouldn’t come off. then use a long pry bar with a ratchet and cheater to apply opposing force to break them. In that situation if I had chosen this approach I would have most likely rounded whatever shape I ground the bolt head into while trying to get them off. Definitely a good technique to have in your arsenal but the best arsenal is well rounded and the one doing the work must know which method is appropriate for any given circumstance.
