I'm in the UK and someone is selling one of your Cuts, wondering if I could buy it and wear it in the Uk, out of respect, I was in the 407 RAMC in the build up to the Falklands Conflict and my Father was in WW11.

I'm a member of America Legion Riders of Ohio Post 490 WHITEHALL, OHIO.

As an old Navy vet and long-time rider (over40yrs) I was looking for just that when I joined my local post. What I found was most members were Sons and NOT VETS. What was worse, some of these non-vets wore real military patches , badges of rank and other military decorations on their SOAL riders vest! Said they were their fathers/grandfathers and they wore them in honor! Many also had a very negative view of America and military service! the post was nothing but a gambling hall and cheap bar for local 'social' members, who also had a dim view of the military!

Watching because I’m wanting to join ALR. I did get upset at how many bikes I saw on the video with the American flag on the wrong side. Come on guys we’re veterans we should know how to display the flag.

I just joined the Legion and can't wait to get a motorcycle endorsement and join the AL riders!

Talk about an over Glorification!. Tell the real truth!. As one of the founders where it all started here in Michigan, I can tell you as a past Sgt at Arms, Head Road Capt, Vice Director and Director... There's nothing but Strife, Click's, Disgruntlement, Back Stabbing, Position Seeking and Power Tripping Jerks!. Most are Wannabes or Posers. Too many think their in a real Bad Ass 1% MC!.. Iv'e directly watched chapters blow apart and dissolve in one meeting!. Even over 25 members quitting in one nite!!. Due to the above problems or guys that want to be Dictaters Not Directors!. And so much "Stolen Glory" goe's on, And who did what, where and when.. Brotherhood?, Respect? Ha! I know Not!. I know first hand long before any other state that even started an ALR chaper that many other very good people that participated for years have since left and quit!.. What originally started out with good intentions got corrupted and turned into crap by the same old worldly things.. Money, Greed And Hunger for Power!!. And last, Personally I wouldn't ride with most of these (Geezers) people anymore due to their old age, diminished mental and reduced physical strenth reaction times and don't know when it's time to quit riding not only getting themselves killed but others!. They are the Dangerous ones and especially Trike riders which are an accident just waiting to happen.. I wouldn't get caught dead riding behind one!!.. And not to mention the non maintaned bikes!. As i said, Iv'e seen a lot of great vets walk away from the BS that goes on within the ALR and many legion posts.. And it's a massive Disgusting Shame to hear so many vets say " I'm never going back to the legion ever!!"........

I have done Patriot Guard, former 11B 2010-2012 and my Grandpa was a Korean Veteran.

If you are not happy with ways in which your American Lgeion Post are done, if you belong, then try and make a difference by participating and doing more.

I was in the legion for four years, each year I asked "What have we done for any Veteran this year". Each year there was silence. VSO [ Veteran's Service organization ] means veterans serving others, not service *FOR* Veterans. Usually the most they do is have a VA "service officer". These people are trained and certified by the VA, so guess where their loyalty lies???

Great job guys. My local ALR hasn't been doing much lately. Hopefully that will change soon.

The "American" Legion posts would not accept Vietnam veterans in the early 1970s. Only when their member base began to decline did they allow us to join. No thanks! Vietnam Veterans of America was created in response.
