I found a post recently that talks about All This Shit with He Xuan and Shi Qingxuan and it's made me think even more about everything. Because there's this huge misconception about their relationship, that I also believed until I saw the post (I straight up forgot what information was given to us in the books) where it's thought that He Xuan knew everything from the start. But he didn't. He only found out recently. He was in heaven to investigate Shi Wudu, why he was there at his death, but he didn't KNOW. So his friendship with Shi Qingxuan was absolutely genuine, which is why he tried so hard to get him out of it. And then the end was him testing Qingxuan's sense of justice, something that was always shown to be strong, but in the end, and especially in the face of his brother's death, that sense of justice failed him, and that was what truly broke He Xuan. But even after everything, he still never wanted Shi Qingxuan to get hurt and that makes me so sad. I have a lot of feelings about these two
