Used to canoe in the St Regis area about 20 years ago, and was always interested in the shape and topo of ledge pond on the map. Thanks for letting me finally see what I was missing!

did you ever float the river coming in from Lows lake? appears there is a 2.5 mile portage before you hit the river but that bring you down to Hi Falls, and then continue on to Wanakena..

Another great trip. That rain was crazy. Lucky you had an extra Tarp to deal with the leaky tent. I'm going to be going to that same lake in April. Favorite sites to look for? Looks like you have cell coverage, what provider?

Hope you can get in. Just went for a ride up around there and a lot of ponds still have ice on them. I use ATT but a lot of people use Verizon around that area, so that might work as well.

Thanks, I love it here. There is 15,000 acres of state land right there across the road. So its an awesome place to get away from it all.

Nice fredy, it brings back good memories. I used to have a black and white cat and rabbit that were best buds just like yours. They used the same litter box and slept in the same bed.

Glad you liked it. I've had a few rescue bunnies over the years. I think they make great pets. Both of these guys came from the pound.

My condolences for your mom my friend, I lost my dad 3yrs ago after his 10yr battle with cancer. I didn't get a chance to make it up there this year due to gas prices. I made 3 trips to Allegany State Park, it's only 1¹/² hrs from my house. Hopefully I'll be able to make it up next summer and we can finally get a chance to meet up.

I know, my camp is just down the road from Gold mine. There is another up by Saint Regis Falls and I can think of a few more all over the Adirondacks. Lol

This is long pond in the Saint Regis Canoe Area. If you are looking for other places to camp, check out some of my other videos. I've made them from all over the northern Adirondacks.

The forest fires of 1903 & 08 took many of the “old” growth….ending much of the logging operations….bringing in the civilian conservation corps that did much of the work in the area. Nice video….I’ll hopefully be paddling Slush Pond next week.

One of my favorite places as a child camping, my father was brought up in that area and now he’s instilled it in us. Great place to take family camping. Check out the spring on mountain pond side.

Awesome that you got to see a moose! I've seen tracks and scat all over the Five Ponds Wilderness, but have yet to see one in the flesh yet. I'll keep looking though!

It is the Old Town Discovery 119. Not the lightest canoe on the market but it is one of the toughest. I hear ya on getting in and out in deep water. The fact that so many of the ponds around here have steep banks is one of the biggest reasons I switched from a kayak to a canoe.

That site's a bit more overgrown now. The rocks are the same, but no where near as wide. Been there twice in the past month although haven't spent the night.

Thanks for checking out my video. I have several of them, my oldest is from the early 70s. IMO they make the best cup of coffee you can get.
