Hey! Standard shafts are built with NdFeB (Neodymium) magnets manufactured (not just sourced) in the USA. If you have a high temperature application (higher curie temps) there are options with SmCo (Samarium Cobalt) or even AlNiCo if needed however these do take a hit to total power efficiency. What sort of applications?

I contacted their sales team for my own curiosity. Iris dynamics makes high quality stuff, but that includes a hefty price tag for hobbyists. Be prepared to spend thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars.

If we fixed the rod in one place will the coil start oscillating periodically? Also can it hold itself on any position with some added weight for a long duration or time? What is the driving circuitry used for this? Answers to these questions would be of great value to me. Also appreciate your work. You and your team is doing great work. Keep it up!

Great point Jeff! When the formal launch video goes out we will make sure to include some clips with some more aggressive roll/pitch/surge. This application RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) doesn't have a ton of sway. It's mainly heave (when going over waves), or roll when banking hard (Port/Starboard). The physics model in this simulation can get a reasonable amount of surge when slamming the throttle on hard. Stay subbed, there are more videos of these units coming in the next few weeks!
