Dumbest statement in this thread 😂...music should be played across as many mediums as are available. Buffoon!!

Lovely in its own way. Certainly doesn't sound Baroque - sounds very much either Romantic or 20th century. Very different from the Harpsichord. I was ready to hate it (as certain Baroque pieces written for the harpsichord don't necessarily sound great on the piano) but I quite like the interpretation. It doesn't sound quite as wild and raw as it does on the harpsichord though - somehow, tamer. (And for all those who think Baroque is somehow too antiseptic and dry, they haven't heard enough Baroque music).

Eh, I wanted to be energized for the morning with the Royer's aggressive compositions, but you made me cry with this... well, late-classical-early-romantic-esque (?) interpretation... I'm not mad, it was beautiful!

The main motif is stolen from Albinoni's famous Adagio, but still, very nice
@jakeorchАй бұрын
Kind of impossible considering the Albinoni motif was written in the 20th century by an Albinoni scholar who only used Albinoni’s bass line in the Adagio. This Duphly on the other hand, was actually written in the 18th century.

Très beau, intense d'une grande sensibilité. Merci d'avoir révéler les potentialités tragiques de cette œuvre ; avec les autres interprétations on a l'impression d'une œuvrette galante, alors qu'ici on est dans une musique qui nous touche au cœur. Mille bravos!

This piece is very expressive, I wanna know what epoque is this, and if was wrote for harpischord or pianoforte? Sounds like a Chopin from 18th century
@rubenschaer9603 жыл бұрын
I think this particular piece was composed during the 1770s, that would have been during the Galant and Classical era. I find it hard to ascribe any one era to WFB - his compositions span the gamut from very traditional baroque all the way to this proto-romantic polonaise, which sound so tender and expressive. If you enjoy this, I highly recommend listening to all of the polonaises, the keyboard fantasias, the 8 fugues, the viola duets, and the flute duets - there is much more of course, but those are my favorite compositions.

It sounds so weirdly muffled on a paino. :\
@corebite3 жыл бұрын
It might just be the acoustic of the room, the post processing and the youtube compression all combined, which causes it to be muffled. I still think the harpsichord sounds better for this piece.

Actually it´s mvt 1, 3 and 7 from the seven-movement suite BeRI 228 (or, if one prefer, "sonata". No title in autograph!) by Johan Helmich Roman (1694-1758). And also: it´s "Non troppo adagio", which is undeniably in line with this interpretation...
