Tom Ford’s Gucci was empire of sophistication. After he left, Gucci went gradually down, reaching the level of total rubbish & trash in 2024 😢

simple. its rare. yeah it isnt all leather like other brands, but lets be real youre seeing probably 20 LV bags per every 1-2 goyard bags. you generally stand out in the fashion world with a goyard rather then corporate large brands like LV and Gucci.

Daniel Lee must sort out numerous problems at Burberry: 1. Practicalities. People’s lifestyles have changed massively since Christopher Bailey’s time. His tenure was bolstered by wealthy Asian clientele, the fact that people were not working from home and a more prosperous world economic climate generally. That was then. This is now. Daniel Lee needs to produce clothing that is suitable for a client facing Zoom call and working at weekends while still retaining its British, classic heritage. He should still produce the classic trench but add car coats, bomber jackets, military style jackets, parkas ie versatile garments. Those fluffy collars he puts on coats are too impractical for rainy weather & sludgy greens may not suit some complexions around the world. The Chinese market is more subdued and Burberry need to understand this and adapt. 2. Price. Burberry is not Chanel, Dior or Gucci. People are dressing less formally these days (even rich people) & younger, especially working class people, cannot afford £2,000 for a trench. However, limiting the lower priced products to Burberry wash bags, wallets, card holders, sunglasses, umbrellas would be a nod to the trend without straying into Chavdom eg baseball caps, t shirts. You could safely & subtly look a bit like your favourite footballer with a Burberry washbag at the gym, in the bathroom or on holiday, for example. Ensure the perfumes/scents/make up tie in with the whole ethos & design of Daniel Lee’s aesthetic. 3. Product placement. It’s vital especially when doing fashion shows that the right celebrities are associated with the product & the current zeitgeist. Some of the celebrities at the latest show were sitting hunched over, chewing gum and/or their nails, looking like they’d just got out of bed & fist bumping themselves like they were in a rough club. They looked like they’d been given a freebie. This is not a good look. Some of the models were stooped & looked miserable, not cool. 4. Celebrities. Limit freebies to those who really count & are in line with the brand and ensure that they recommend your product at every opportunity. They need to be authentically on message. 5. Daniel Lee shouldn’t give interviews to anyone. The work needs to speak for itself just like Tom Ford. He should be aware that all Burberry’s owners want is his creative vision to translate into sales. He needs to prove that it can.

Awful. So many problems. Goyard has worked with department stores before. They were in Barneys' and NM and other retailers. Second, who wants dead animal skin? Some people prefer Coated Canvas. The Old GOYARD HEMP Canvas was superior compared to today's cotton canvas. I hope they return to Hemp and hand printing like before. The hand printing made a difference. Goyard did change. they no longer hand print nor do they use hemp. Do your research.

I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

I can tell the difference between authentic and inauthentic Goyard totes. If you own the real deal, it’s quite obvious…usually the leather trim gives it away.

Remember all the silk in the 90’s silk shirts and silk suits on woman,he made it so chic and sexy. Todays Gucci or under Alessandro Michele’s Gucci was more grandma chic which I never got. But OMG 90’s Gucci under Tom Ford will go down has gone down in fashion history as one of the best periods.

It‘s difficult for the craftsmanship of the bags and this is why they are expensive. While looking at the brand, it’s fair to say that the price is not just based on materials. It’s really important for the people who created the bags getting paid equally to keep this industry going. But yes, this is an expensive luxury and common people will have a hard time investing money into these bags.

What would it be like if they did go the route of say creating more functional outdoor wear or techwear like a North Face. Or Arc’teryx. But at the luxury level. Distinctive, heritage, and functional - but no puffer jackets! We've seen the popularity of Canada Goose saturate the streets on London.

I’m seeing this brand all over SM now and that is why I came here to see what the reasoning is. Honestly, it reminds me of a cheap bag from Walmart. It’s also ugly. I’ll never buy it. It’s just the hype.

I disagree that DK's clothes were anti male gaze. I think they were feminine and sensuous, they were for the male gaze ( there's nothing wrong with that ) but they also appealed to women, because they made women sexy without showing lots of skin ( compare this to Versace/Mugler/Cavalli.) Anti male gaze would be The Row. Phoebe Philo stands on the shoulders of Donna Karan.

I disagree with this. If you know DK, you know she created with women in mind. She never designed for the perspective of men (in her womenswear). A woman can be sexy and it not be for the gaze of men. Thats what makes her a legend. The DK brand of the early days was as anti-male gaze as you could get commercially (this was a women designing clothes for women). A woman’s sense of sensuality should never be tied to what a man will see, or think, or perceive. THAT’s DK!

@@superluxesource ..... there were some things you missed....the importance of her LATE HUSBAND was CRUCIAL to her SUCCESS...with her entire brand and his structuring of the brand to take care of her after he died ...her use of fine technique and great fabrics were also overlooked....her ad campaigns were on par and more than a few times SUPERIOR to any in the business and women STILL LUST FOR HER SCENTS and they STILL sell very well....i own quite a few eye grabbing pieces from her men's and women's collections and i treasure them...things for EVENING....her HUGE mistake was falling into the AGE OLD TRAP that successful women ALWAYS FALL FOR...being SOCIAL with RICH....POWERFUL....and INFLUENTIAL MEN that ALLUDE TO GLAMOUR...her statement about HARVEY ...DESTROYED HER BRAND and SCANDALIZED HER into ISOLATION...i don't think she will EVER recover from that....i hope her brand does well however in it's new relaunch....as for all of this discussion about the MALE GAZE...WOMEN CANNOT ESCAPE IT...NOR SHOULD THEY WANT TO....embrace your SENSUALITY and ELEGANCE while you are at it...however the MALE GAZE is what MOTIVATES THE PLANET...it's up to women to UNDERSTAND THAT HOLISTICALLY...
