Hey man, me and my buddy were looking to camp Guadalupe River state park next week. Is the rainbow trout going to be a lot harder bc of the sunshine and rising temp? Is that area good to fish? We’re pretty novice and any advice would help!
@AnotherFishTail15 күн бұрын
There are no Rainbow Trout in Guadalupe River State Park, but you can find bass there. The trout are located below Canyon Lake, and it's currently too warm to target Rainbow Trout in the Guadalupe River. If you're interested in fishing for trout, October is the best time to start.

No, that is one thing I have never tried. I heard that they are a ton of fun to catch.

Kingfish bite about anything and are easy to catch. We tried to avoid catching Kings because although fun to catch, they are not really good eating. We preferred, dorado, red snapper, grouper, amberjack, and wahoo.

Whats your range you can run? I havent gone more than 10 miles out in Mako yet. 18 gallons of gas on 75 merc Mako proskiff 17
@AnotherFishTailАй бұрын
We don’t venture out much more than 25 miles into the Gulf. Fuel wise, we have a 50 gallon tank and a 150hp Mercury motor. We can go about 60 miles one way and have plenty of reserve fuel, at least in the bay.

Nice video keep it up. I just purchased a Lews 300a MACH Crush. The box looked like it was opened and no paperwork. Do you remember if there was any paperwork in the box? Also, I noticed that there are spots when the reel is turning that the bail won't snap closed. I have to move it a fraction one way of the other for the bail to close. Does this sound normal? Love the reel though. Just not sure if I got B stock from Amazon.
@AnotherFishTailАй бұрын
You may want to return it. I have never had a problem with any reel bail not closing in a certain position. Get a Shimano.
@traderfjpАй бұрын
@@AnotherFishTail Hey. I have a Shimano Exsense. A very nice reel. I get I mistyped. I meant to say that there are spots where the bail won't open. There is resistance. Move it a little and it opens. I will return anyway. Do you still like the Crush?

@AnotherFishTail not discounting the crew . But the catch was horrendous. I travel the country for work and always fish the local party boats. I did a trip with I believe it was Williams in Galveston about 2 years ago did decent for me. But looking at that catch would have been a world better lol

@John06648 Its good depending on your experience level. There were a few big snappers caught and I hooked into a big one as well but the circle hook came out.
@John066482 ай бұрын
@AnotherFishTail right I don't like that rig they use either . I prefer the 1 hook setup that looks like a basic chicken rig but just 1 hook . You did say the right thing when you hit bottom crank up 6 to 10 cranks . Bigger snappers are higher up in water . That rig they use is great f9r grouper if you can get the weight to sit and Stat on the bottom bouncing off bottom spooks them about 3/4 of the time

These fish see a ton of flies with the amount of pressure. You would have to do something unique to catch their attention or match the hatch when it occurs.

2-3’ is a good average since there are multiple transitions in depth. Here we are hunting about 6” where the decoys are located. The low tide affected us.
