This is my first time watching this movie. Thank you for sharing this. The Abominable Dr. Phibes, while an enjoyable movie that holds your attention, isn't as good as Price's other films such as The Raven or The Witchfinder General. Price does an admirable job as Dr. Phibes. There were enjoyable moments in this dark comedy/horror film. I did have fun trying to guess which plague was next and how Phibes would pull it off. I have to give the writers credit for how imaginative they were in figuring out how Phibes would recreate the 10 plagues. I did laugh when the brass unicorn head was used to eliminate one of the doctors and at the way the police were trying to remove the body.

I love this movie! So full of old English humour, so preposterous, so camp- an absolute gem. And, obviously, Vincent Price kills it, yet again. And thanks for the entertaining commentary!

This was rough. Had to wait a whole 37 seconds into the film before the first instance of female nudity. Love this movie, as I do all The Blind Dead films. Nice looking print too.

Amongst other profound teaching, this piece of spectacular trophy artwork, in just one minor example alone, dramatically depicts the highest form of compassion possible in all of humanity - Australian mateship - exemplified by how that simpleton country cop, without being prompted in any way, out of a supernatural goodness of the heart, with uncanny insight & childlike unsophistication and a heart of gold with full knowledge of the certain impossibility of reward other than the knowledge of doing a good turn for someone he determinedly & unwantedly befriended, went right out his own way to put himself right out on a limb by authoring a fraudulent affidavit on behalf of an entirely of his own doing hapless victim incapable of helping himself, with the sole angelic purpose of ensuring absolutely there will be no repercussions eternally rebounding on said victim which would not only result in him being thrown out of the teaching profession for life but also blighting him from ever securing gainful employment in any field of endeavour matching his most earnest hopes & dreams, for the rest of his natural life.

I LOVE this movie. Herzog uses such evocative imagery, and the choice of music is sublime. The German language version has more enigmatic scenes. I watched it with a German friend who explained the folkloric images. Most of these are cut from the English language version.

I thought this was one of the best versions! Kinski was his usual outlandish and creepy sefl, brilliant for this role. Herzog could get the best out of Klaus. I thoroughly enjoyed this film as it is one of my favorites of the genre, right up there with Universal (Bela) and Hammer (Lee) in my opinion and I love both the Universal and Hammer versions of Dracula/Frankenstein and the Wolfman.

The show’s opening is of a pigeon flying. Would a bat have been better for a mystery suspense story?

Awesome film 👍 absolutely terrifying, not a monster, serial killer, psychopath or ghost in sight, just the terrifying normality of the mundane and the shock that we are all just one poor choice away from depravity and deprivation and there is nothing we can do about it.

Soft porn. They didn't have good writers and or actors anymore. Best horror flicks are from before this era. From this point on its all a total waste to watch. Same crap on repeat. Its nudity violence sex cgi cussing. I keep hoping to find a gem & its all depraved.
