Once you reach Clermont-Ferrand, you'll see both the A71 and A75 autoroutes end there, but their ends share the same carriageway since they both form European Route E11, making it an important route between Paris and the Gulf of Lyon.

In fact the A96 between Lindau and Munich used to be a series of Bundesstrassen before they were converted, upgraded or built from the start to form the Autobahn A96.

The weather was not good, but something was visible. An unusual arrangement of the number of lanes, hardly understandable or dictated by such changes - apart from the obvious lack of space.

Hi Niels, I have a request, if it's not too inconvenient to do! I use your videos to research for my own videos; I watch them and gauge how many trucks use the road, because I travel abroad to various different countries to film trucks. Would it be possible to include the date of recording in your video descriptions, so that I can observe the number of trucks and see whether it was a weekend or week day? Thanks and always loving your videos :)
@nielsontheroad18 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your kind words. It's not a matter of inconvenience but rather data protection. I deliberately don't mention or show recording dates for various reasons. These videos have the goal of showing the road / highway and scenery and I want to differentiate them from dashcam videos that typically show other road users and events. Sorry I'm not able to help you with the dates :/

Thanks a lot for all the interest in this video! For those wondering: yes this video was made before the works started on expanding the road to a highway standard. You can see from the traffic that this is much needed! I drove to Albania with my own car and have to say that Tirana was probably one of the more chaotic cities that I have driven in. Nonetheless I enjoyed visiting and driving in Albania a lot. Many more videos are coming to the channel in the future!

2:05 Look at the right, that traffic light pole green. And I imagine the pole turns red when the light gets red. Which makes it more visible for drivers inside their cars That's ingenious. The world should have more traffic light poles such as this.

I can recommend to use the Brennerautobahn on the Austrian side going to the Brennerpass. Using the Staatsstrasse can be a bit bothersome. After you crossed the Italian border leave the Autobahn and take the Toll-Free SS 12. Depending on where you go and how much time you have you should stay on this road until you passed Trento. It‘s a very scenic drive and if you are not in a hurry take your time to enjoy the beautiful Southern Tyrolean landscape and the Trentino. Also I would recommend a stop in Mules/Mauls at the Staflerhof to enjoy a white wine soup or other specialities. You can also stay over night there.

In rainy conditions the German font is much more readable than the thinner more compressed Austrian choice of lettering. And always weird to see that between Austria en Germany there still is a physical border obstruction to carry out checks even though both countries are Shengen members.
