Sorry, but this sounds more like a "Wish List" than a Legal Rules List. In the real world, none of the insurance companies follow these rules, especially the rule about conducting a thorough investigation. Even your own insurance will throw you under the bus during subrogation of your accident with the "at fault" insurance company. We have GEICO and are currently having them deal with State Farm regarding an accident my husband had 2 weeks ago at a Walmart parking lot where the woman ran a stop sign and t-boned my husband causing $5500 damage to our brand new car. Our car is being fixed by GEICO but State Farm is not admitting liability yet eventhough the police report clearly states she was at fault and was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign and Inattention. State Farm first claimed her insurance policy didn't cover that car which is BS since the cop verified all the information at the scene of the accident. Then, they came up with a cockamamie story about how it was a new policy and hadn't yet taken effect (WTH!- If she already had insurance for another car, then all they would do is add that car to the same policy, not issue a brand new policy!). None of that makes sense to a reasonable person and it's obvious State Farm is stalling but GEICO is not interested in investigating that and are just waiting for State Farm to complete their "Investigation" which they say will take 30 days. Oh, and the kicker is that the woman also happens to have a policy for another car with GEICO which sounds to me like a conflict of interest and makes me really think that they are protecting her and not putting our interests as the injured party above theirs. I questioned them about that but of course they denied it.

Considering the fact that insurance companies set everything up in their favor, slash coverages, raise premiums year after year, how is it even legal???? The insurance industries pay lobbyists to influence legislation and regulations in their favor. i was put on this when i was 10 yrs old for nocturnal seizures. i was forced to take it for as long as i could (initially 4 years, then they extended my prescription.) the side effects are extremely life changing. i gained weight, sleep irregularities, speech impendiment, passing out often at school. antisocial behavior, depression (plus some environmental factors worsening it), but to be fair, it did stop my epilepsy. after seeing the behavior, i was lucky to have a family member that recommended me to stop taking it... against the doctor's advice. Gradually we reduced the dosage and monitored what i had to eat. i'm now 22 years old, but the side effects haven't left me entirely. but it was a leap of faith. hopefully this can be slightly informative to those in the same position as me before. tl;dr, ONLY IF our epilepsy is similar, and you feel all symptoms have disappeared, try to begin preventive measures in your own environment. like avoid stress, eat more various diets, exercise and socialize. sleep only on your sides, learn how to breathe when you're paralyzed. etc. and convince your doctor/loved one to stop the prescription if you're sure.
