Great discussions! My favorite segment was talking about Finest, and I’m on the fence myself. Ultimately will come down to price point. I like on card autos, but there are very few fighters right now I would want a card of. I’ve got all my favorites already, at this point I’m interested in collecting for the next generation of fighters. 2024 rookie is just not promising at all to me though

I agree with you that’s a holy grail card , but I’m not a Khabib fan . His style is boring to watch Instead bought a 2010 Red GSP auto out of 8 made , in PSA 9 for 1000 Dollars,& a Conor on card auto 2015 in BGS 9 card , auto 10 for 1250 dollars. I much rather have mine Also for 600 dollars I bought a 2015 GSP / Dana White auto out of 50 made in PSA 10 , the only 10

@ Not similar, GSP is a top stand up fighter & wrestler . Completely well rounded but a persons favorite fighters are subjective I agree the best investments & money to be made will be in vintage cards .

Cool to hear a bit of fight chat, 308 results will be interesting going forward. Generally UFC fight cards have been very impressive, hopefully translates into cards. Certainly more eyes now I think with Dana / Fanatics push.

I like your pics but I want to add a good suggestion. I want image parallels like Topps does with baseball. Short print and super short print image variations of each fighter doing something interesting or a unique photo. I like the idea of the nickname parallels too to go with it. Maybe b&w and sepia as well

The last time i can remember they did image variations was in 2017 Chrome I think? We got nickname variations here recently in 2023 Prizm undercard, but of course with no pack odds was kind of hard to determine how rare those were. I like the image variation SSP idea more personally, maybe we see that again within the next few years!

I feel like Topps Finest Sets are the People's Cards, they don't have the greatest long term value but the public likes the look of the cards. Sorta like Donruss vs Optic in Football, Topps Paper vs Topps Chrome in Baseball, etc.

I don't know why Finest is so overlooked. They tend to have less parallels then chrome and look better. Definitely a set for the people. Well put mate

RC and 1st autos in my opinion are the most rare when it comes to autos especially if they are numbered. Also Topps over Panini

I’ve bought and graded some base Round 1 Royce cards based on the thought that it could be the 52 mantle of the UFC. Fairly cheap card hard to grade. Love the auto though, and another point is Royce has the nicest male fighter autograph

That Immaculate looks awesome, very cool design. I love these 'deep dive / highlight' card style vids, fun & informative. Such a shame that this coveted 2009 UFC Topps set produced such terrible quality, never understood why.

I think if you can get a decent graded version of the auto it will rise really sharply year on year. The UFC is getting more popular and as you get into the hobby you appreciate the importance of Rnd 1 and how many legends have a RC in that set. It’s def on my wish list along with a Bisping auto

I believe you're spot on with this take. Completely underrated and undervalued, it's like how people collect cards of George Mikan and Bill Russell, who played in the 50s but still have highly valued cards. Just like collectors buy Babe Ruth cards without having seen him play, the significance of what these athletes represented in the sport is a major reason for their high value. No one can argue the impact that Royce Gracie has had in the world of MMA, so having the first UFC trading card that also includes an autograph from the godfather of MMA is major! ⚡💰

Great Video Zac. I completely agree about that card. Super slept on for being the first auto of the first ever UFC champ. Not to mention being the godfather of BJJ. So I’ve actually pulled three autos out of round one packs and for some reason, the autos are always beat up (even when the base cards are coming out near mint)That’s why the round autos never grade higher than a six. It’s weird too because they’re not on-card so I don’t know why they’re getting destroyed before being put in the packs.

Royce's 1st card is his 1996 Vale Tudo. He has 1 Pride card (sparkle) and his Round 1 card is the best. I own the Rd 1 red auto and ult gear Royce auto as well... also have a great story regarding the Rd 1 1/1 Royce card.

The Immaculate Royce auto is tough to find in great condition. I think Ive seen maybe three on eBay that would get an 8 or better.

Also, just looked it up, a Royce Gracie RC red /8 sold for $1200 recently on ebay. That auto should only gain in value as time goes on, especially with how big MMA has gotten, a lot of people will start learning the history and realize how valuable these old school cards are 👌

Royce does not have a rookie ruby card. His rd 1 cards were base, gold and silver.

The 1st Auto is a grail. Also the 2014 Bloodlines 1st Patch Auto /175 is also a slept on card, can still pick them up for about $500...

Ngl, am I alone in thinking that 2024 Topps Chrome UFC is a little lack luster? Idk, the inserts just kinda... Don't do it for me lol I got two Mega boxes when it dropped, but ehh. I like the panini stuff more, I'm hoping to get my hands on a Knockout Box soon so we'll see 🤷♂ Although, the king and queen cards are so awesome imo

This is all so insane, like i love Kabooms, but how is anyone to say that's more "rare" or "better" than a Khabib first auto...? People never take into consideration that most of these cards really do get lost in the void lol

I have collected vintage baseball off and on for a while before getting into ufc. Vintage ufc is WAY undervalued and will be great investments. I cant wait to see what i can get out of some things in the far future

The Khabib 1st auto is definitevly one of the holy grails of the Ufc hobby! Just think about his accomplishemts as a fighter and his impact as an coach…the fighters (Islam, Umar, Usman…)from his camp are immaculte and they will dominate for a long time (future legends too) So every achievement of the camp is automatically linked to Khabib All in all would say the /149 is (besides the 1/1’s and the red inks of the 1st autos) in the top 5 of the Ufc grails

@@MT-uf1fm I think the Islam, Umar (and maybe Usman if he comes over as well) aspect of Khabibs legacy is very important. As his name will continue to live on and is tied to those guys as well. The more accolades they get it should help Khabibs legacy also.

Interesting, I owned 5 of these Khabib /149's at one point, own zero now. The print run of /149 is too high for me also, I usually stick to under /25 now.
