Wow the ability cards and turn structure changed a lot prior to launch!

Obviously you MUST abuse backtracking to minimize wasting time at the fountain. My fav strat is to camp out near the Police station and just abuse my family member ( don’t take that out of context ) to save time crossing the board. Ya, you give enemies free money, but you save soooooo much time.

Yeh i figured this out pretty quickly within my first couple games. Problem is with 3 players my friends wanted to just keep fucking eachother over and the game drag out to 5 hours and we had to call if quits 😂 lol, ill send them this video.

At 16:51 you CAN use the Tavern action to take a ruby from the Coffee House. It can come from any of the 3 ruby tracks. Great video by the way, I enjoyed watching 3 different strategies explored from the start. I think in Istanbul you can have a starting strategy but the game evolves as you play and you need to be flexible so even if you start with an intended strategy, you'll find yourself going on alternate routes because it's what the game demands, as we saw in this playthrough. Coffee was pretty strong in this game because of the layout but there are almost always things you can do to counter other players which is why Istanbul is more interesting toe than most Euro games.

Focusing on one colored box DOES NOT work. First strategy I tried, and missed a lot of fox bonuses.

Stephen forgot to mention that the white die is wild and can be played as if it is any of the 5 colors. There are many different sequel games to GSC which involve the same dice gameplay mechanic but different scoresheets and scoring rules. These include GSC Challenge 1, Twice as Clever, Clever Cubed and the recently released Clever4Ever. There are also other fan versions. The expansions require a complete rethink of your strategy as the scoring system is different. But they're all a lot of fun. One fan described GSC as "Yahtzee on steroids" but for me it has a very different feel to Yahtzee. Anyway I enjoyed the video and many thanks for uploading.
