I used to get on & off Amtrak here to visit my Mom & Grandparents in Florida. This was the closest that you could get by Train to Gainesville which is a little over 14 miles. It's a shame that it's no longer a Passenger Station anymore. I believe it's been that way since around 2005. Back in the 70's & 80's you would see Seaboard Eastern Coastline engines with Freight roll thru here - before everything turned into CSX.

I've just bought this kit and have been looking at builds and reviews of it. This was by far the most enjoyable. The whole story of a beat up truck,it's engine change and glass ageing technique was great. I don't know who 'she' is and would hope you could give her a name and I do hope she is still modelmaking. We need more young people in this hobby. Thanks for showing and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓

On the metal axles, if you take a file and round the ends a little bit, remove the "Burr" from where the axle was cut off at the factory, they will go in the wheel holes better.

WOW! That is really a nice looking trailer, You have an eye for weathered detail. I really liked how you fabricated the ramps from the rails on the trailer (frankly, i think they are MUCH better how you put them to use than the kit designers intended. I thought the box to hold the wheel chocks was a good idea and if you find it hard for the tractor to turn, just pop it on to the deck of the trailer, problem solved (when you look at other trailers, you'll see...they put those boxes in many different locations). I look forward to seeing then projects you turn out. Really a fantastic effort!

She studied FDOT lowboys while she was doing this model. She liked the ramps, and she tried several times to make them work. I think these were her third try. The parts for the ramps came from the kit. She wants to do another one, but school is getting in her way right now. She hopes to complete her Country Dodge Charger by the end of the year, tho. I am super proud of her, and am amazed at her creativity. Thank you for your encouragement.

@DavidRLentz
@DavidRLentz 2 жыл бұрын
@@trafficsignalman , thank you. I am looking for a model of the late-war F4U-4 Corsair with the six wing-mounted 50-cali- ber machine guns. Do you know about the Ac- ademy kit of the Korean War F4U-4 Corsair with four 20mm cannons? It would be an excel- lent comparison to the Revell kit you have built. I had the Academy kit. I had started a sort of conversion with a Tamiya kit of the F4U- 1D, incorporating the changes forward of the cockpit. I knew too little of the exact details, to determine where to make the cuts in the fuselage. I since have read that the designers might have enlarged the vertical stabiliser, though I do not know of the specific measurements. The Academy kit's surface detail fell far short of that of the Tamiya model's. I also would require the six 50-cals in the wings of the latter kit.
@trafficsignalman
@trafficsignalman 2 жыл бұрын
