Here's the giant failure of the sower parable. It's not the soil's responsibility to be prepared for seed. Not at all. I get that Jesus wasn't a farmer, but farming was ubiquitous in that day. You very carefully saved the best seed until the next planting season. You never hurled it around willy-nilly. That would be WASTEFUL. But what you did was you spent time making the seed bed correct for what you wanted to plant there. This parable ignores that and puts the onus on the soil. One more science fail for the bible.
