Hi Mr. Chapin. I grew up listening to your music - from Family Tree to In My Hometown. I still know most of the lyrics and I feel like the characters in those songs were people I grew up with. I can’t believe I didn’t think to look for you on KZbin before now but I’m so glad to hear you (and your family) singing again!!!!

What a joy-filled version of this song. I love the way the piano player added ornamentation. Who is he? Tom Chapin has given us a wonderful gift that I have shared for years now on the occasion of my friends' birthdays. Thanks Tom

Sadly, he's a hack. If it wasn't for him having a famous brother who left him an inheritance, he'd be baking cakes for a living. LOL

From Hamilton, Ontario. Harry Chapin - guitar and vocals, John Wallace - bass and vocals, Steve Chapin - piano and vocals, Howie Fields - drums, Doug Walker - electric guitar, Yyvone Cable - cello and special guest Tom Chapin! One of my favorite moments from this show was getting to see Tom perform his song Crystal Green with Harry providing harmonies. That live version of Crystal Green sounds tremendous and is one of my favorites from this show. I remember seeing this concert on TV. They used to broadcast it on PBS fairly often back when I was little. It may have been billed as "The Final Concert" but for me it was my first Chapin concert, though it was on television in the late 80's. This show was one of the first things that really drew me to Chapin music, along with my dad's copy of the Greatest Stories Live album (which he played just about every Saturday afternoon). I've since worn out more than one copy of this concert on both VHS and DVD. For anyone who hasn't seen it, it's a great show that's well worth tracking down.

My wife and I were privileged to hear you sing and meet you at Jonathan's in Ogunquit, Maine. You are unfortunately a rare spirit helping people come together with words and stories. My young son likes your book. God speed.

One of my favorite Tom Chapin albums was one he sang a song called '"Follow the Light" with John McCutcheon.

I met Tom Chapin after watching the documentary "blue water, white death" of the sharks, and being amazed by the scenes in which a certain sailor plays the guitar and sings, the said sailor was Tom Chapin. The songs in the scenes are so good that I cut them from the documentary and listen to them every day

I 100% agree with you, I am hocked with the songs for many years. Could you please send me a copy of the songs you cut from the documentary, thank you I wish that Mr. Tom Chapin would record these songs that he sang in that documentary Best Regards

This is awesome! I remember being about 21 when I first bought the Join The Jubilee CD at Borders bookstore. It was in their small folk music section, which I always checked just in case there was something new. I was happily surprised to find this album. Not even knowing of its existence at the time, I was excited to get in the car and listen. It hit me right away and it's still my favorite Tom Chapin album. So many good songs and the performances on the album are stellar. I was especially floored the first time hearing Join The Jubilee, Wandering Boy and Jubilation (hadn't heard Cotton Patch Gospel yet at the time, it would be a few more years before I'd get my hands on copies of those original songs). Lots of great memories associated with these songs (driving around and warbling along to Emily, laughing out loud at the lyrics to Columbine, etc.) It's great getting to hear Tom play them again now. Thanks for this!

Growing up I went to a small Lutheran school and church in Ohio. Music was a part of it, both choir children's, youth and I believe Jr choir which I was a part of from kindergarten to 8th grade. Although I wasn't the greatest singer, my best friend was the choir director daughter's and we came as a duet! I was the oldest of three girls and we too had our Harry in our family. She got in to trouble with the Pastors daughter Of course we had music too- it.started with recorder, then I went to clarinet and eventually folk and classical guitar. Two things which I still enjoy today except for the arthritis in my fingers! Thanks for the memories!!!

Coincidentally enough the first non-religious song we learned was,This land is your land. The Pastors daughter was my first guitar teacher and through her I learned the protest songs of the 60s-juSt didn't realize they were protest songs- where have all the flowers gone, one man's hands, etc

I found you guys about 27 years ago when my kids were little. We saw you live in Lakewood CO probably 20 years ago. Listening to your music brings back so many amazing memories. Now I get to share you with my grandchildren. Very grateful to you!!! I woke up this morning singing Lemonade Stand...who know why, so I've been binging on you all morning.

Love to hear my home town mentioned, but I just have to point out that there is no train service to New Paltz. Trailways bus service, now, that's a different story. "She kicked up a fuss when she got off the bus . . ." perhaps?

Great show! It would improve the audio to hook up a recorder directly from the amp or mixer, then dub it to the video. Wishing you all the best in 2024!🎉
