All the result of the construction of retaining walls that force the surf sideways, Generally to the north which carries the sand away. With the beach eroded away the next storm moves even farther inland and removes more sand. Within a few years the waves will reach the road and all the properties will be waterfront instead of beach front. The only solution is to remove all retaining walls and let nature take it natural course. In about 100 years the beach should recover.

About 9-10 years ago, Ocean Frontiers boat dive, Sea Sport Divers boat dive and Divetech at Lighthouse Point shore dive has video footage of a Manta cruising the top of deep wall. This Manta stayed in the Cayman waters for about 6 months.

There is no objective observational evidence that we are living in a global climate crisis. The UN's IPCC AR6 WG1, chapter 12 "Climate Change Information for Regional Impact and for Risk Assessment", page 1856, section 12.5.2, table 12.12 confirms there is a lack of evidence or no signal that the following have changed: Air Pollution Weather (temperature inversions), Aridity, Avalanche (snow), Average precipitation, Average Wind Speed, Coastal Flood, Agricultural drought, Hydrological drought, Erosion of Coastlines, Fire Weather (hot and windy), Flooding From Heavy Rain (pluvial floods), Frost, Hail, Heavy Rain, Heavy Snowfall and Ice Storms, Landslides, Marine Heatwaves, Ocean Acidity, Radiation at the Earth’s Surface, River/Lake Floods, Sand and Dust Storms, Sea Level, Severe Wind Storms, Snow, Glacier, and Ice Sheets, Antarctic Sea Ice, Tropical Cyclones.

Miami Beach is man made, maybe the Cayman government needs to start importing sand? 🤔 Or restore coral reefs, mangroves, and implement breakwaters to protect the beach from more erosion.

I have photos from back during construction in 1989, when there was over a 100 feet of beach sand from the existing seawall to ocean at high tide. Yes, over 100 feet of sandy beach…. CI DOE has been ignored for to long, especially now with the CI government talking about dredging the Port for cruise ship dockage. Dredging of Port will even worsen beach sand natural restoration, plus destroying the Seven Mile Beach reef system and marine life! CI government willing too destroy stay over tourism for cruise ship businesses! Remember when Cruise ships threatened Cayman Islands before Covid lock down!

Tourism is does far more damage to Cayman than good. Covid was a blessing in showing how people should change to a different sector. It is insane to petulantly demand the destruction of Cayman for *everyone* merely to satiate the greed of a tiny minority of politicians taking kickbacks from developers and a small number of Caymanians working in the sector. Most people in the sector are the ‘imported poverty’ of comments section fame: primarily Jamaicans. Cruise tourists are pests, who further clog up the island, and make life for residents a nightmare. The industry can’t collapse fast enough.

So so sad. A park like this can’t be replaced and this will really hinder the community. Money talks and speaks louder than what’s important.

Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Charle Duke have been diving with Divetech for many years. The astronauts even visited the West Bay primary school. The kids loved watching the video of the astronauts walking on the moon and the astronauts stories. Buzz even made a special trip for the sinking of the Lighthouse Point bronze statue, Guardian of the Reef.
