Great video. I'm waiting on some mirrored acrylic to arrive. I did some tests on two tone (multi layered) acrylic samples. Unfortunately, you could see lines in the filled areas. Is it likely that I'm running it too slow/strong? Any suggestions would be very welcome

What are the dimensions it can cut?

I've found it to be less than ideal in practice. The advertised power simply isn't there when cutting thicker materials, and the 'precision' is often inconsistent, leading to uneven cuts and wasted material. The portability is also a bit of a lie - it's bulky and heavy, making it difficult to move around without a dedicated workspace. I'm disappointed with the performance considering the price tag.

I just bought this machine and when I went to do the Pulse test, the laser did not work at all. We followed the setup instructions but the laser won’t pulse at all. Are we missing something?

We own an Omtech (AF2028 60watt) machine and use it for our business. Having worked with lasers for the past decade using high-end lasers (universal, epilog, trotec) along with cheaper Chinese models similar to Omtech, I can say customer service is a must. That said, every time I have had to reach out to Omtech support, I have had nothing but issues. The tech support has never had the information I needed, and it's super frustrating. How do you not have the specs on how much weight you can set inside your machine? All-in-all, the machine is a great starter machine, but if you are trying to buy one for a long-term business, I would recommend a company with better support. Although this is a negative overall review, no one ever wants to mention this and only talks about the positives. Transparency should be a must when customers are trying to buy and spend thousands of dollars regardless.

I was looking at your video , and I have a question how can I change the work area size on the control panel

Is this a diode machine? Seems nice, whats the specs? And is the air assist built in? And how thick of plywood can it cut? Baisclly i want to know why id pick this over other brands. I have an af2435 80w and a giant gantry diode thats also 80w though struggles to cut 6mm birch ply. Also live in an area where winter co2 laser isnt safe without freezing factor breaking the tube.

is this test card also good for acrylic?

So I have a chuck style rotary, I mounted it to a board so it's aligned properly every time. Long story short... can you make a way to use the knife bed as a position guide/ mount that can be reused and adjusted so setup is easy and consistent for repeated use. Just a thought I used a board and some small shelf mounts to achieve this though it's screwed in and no way to adjust the angle if need be without hassle.. also can you please show nit just an alignment video but let's say the two rails unsync and cut diamonds not squares, I had a sensor failure and the coupler slipped on one side and have no way to really correct this without taking the entire top cover off shield and tube shield. And if I did how can I tell if it's squared safely without eye damages. Thanks I wish you all the best.

Bit late but the magic eraser has polishing compounds in it rather than just the texture of the sponge.

The banding may be caused by too high a DPI. CO2 doesn't have a dot size that small unless you have a HR lens in it. 254 dpi is about max for CO2

Great job and useful way to use your laser. I have the OMTech Polar and am very pleased with it. Over the years I have had many lasers, expensive ones and now to this one, which is the least expensive and does everything the more expensive ones did. I have added an external control panel which makes it much easier to run.

I'm kind of wondering why OMTech bother doing any videos at all the couple I've seen have been pretty much useless for such a great product you need to do better. 1. You removed all form of bed from the device adjustable shelf now what's it sitting on? because it's still able to up and down. There's also no mention of how you aligned it to the X top rail. 2. you changed from normal to rotary does changing it back ruin the existing settings I've seen other videos show you how to backup existing setting so you don't ruin your old settings. 3. You've located the drive rollers on the part of the tumbler that has a thread on it I just cant imagine why you'd do that risking it walking up and down the thread. 4. You've centred the device but how there are no markings on the rotary device. 5. No mention at all of how your going to stop the project from walking up the drive train nothing stopping it from doing this. 6. If I was OMTech I'd have suggested settings for all my models for this process or should we just destroy 6 tumblers working it out. 7. No mention of Lightburn suggested settings for line interval distance either. As a business owner and CEO if your going to do something do it properly this is pretty useless.

A step by step settings in lightburn would be great. I know alot of people have bought Omtech lasers lately and like me need a little extra help. I have the k40+ and regular roller and it throws the cup off every time. I want to upgrade to the Chuck rotary but apparently it doesn't fit on mine.

How long did it take to engrave that patch? And how long will it take to engrave 20 patches that size? I’m new to my laser and for my 2x2 inch patch it takes about 10 mins. 😩.

Have tried the masking tape and not sure why but that doesn't work well with my S1 40W xtool. Have tried multiple times and I get some bleeding underneath it. Probably I am doing something wrong. What type of paper are you using?
