Rather than using glue for the rope, I just use a spray bottle filled with water & spray the rope. The rope will shrink as it dries & adhere to the tube.

So I'm looking online for a replacement scratching post for my cat tower. I type in a few words and this video pops up.... I just had to comment and say,,, these girls are amazing. saved me soooo much money... Now I'm thinking this is a 2012 video and these Ladies are all grown up now.. Glue, you need glue. If you don't put glue on the post the whole wrap fails when the kitties cut the rope and the rope wrap falls off in a ropey looking jumble of unwrapped wrap. Thanks for a great video.

You should not try going for the cutesy wootsy thing and just stick to narrating how you build it. Just a thought. You may get more views that last for more than 10 seconds

Not everything is a professional production. I'm guessing this wasn't meant to be seen as the definitive DIY cat scratching post video, but instead used for girl scouts, as in a fun video showing teamwork, projects, etc.
