A lot quieter. I drove a 240D 5 speed and it could comfortably and easily cruise at 120km/h, noise was about the same as this video at 95kmh. 100km/h was as quiet as 80 in this video. Of course if there was a hill you would have to downshift, on bigger hills you would be in 3rd gear at 80-90kmh

Actually I am quite impressed, for a small engine and only 4 gears to go -- if i read your gauges correctly -- about 125km/hr, or about 77-78 mph, to not sound like it is really struggling: yes, a model of great efficiency, the performance those Mercedes-Benz engineers were able to get .. And now, with one example maintained well enough to still demonstrate same 43 years later? Bravo!!!

Ja, ich höre ihn auch unwahrscheinlich gerne. Der Klang von Zuverlässigkeit 🙂 und nee nee...die Aufnahmen sind am späten Abend gemacht, kurz vor Sonnenuntergang, während Deutschland sein EM - Spiel hatte😅 ich hatte die Autobahn fast für nich alleine.
