Hi, nice work, love your style, Question, do you happen to have the link from Amazon where you ordered the folding table for the rear wheel mount?

This is the table I purchased. Hopefully the link is still good. 🫡 amzn.to/3MIGXYV

Why not go with a outback?
@TylerandHannah5 күн бұрын
We'll definitely need to go bigger in the near future and probably should have gone with an Outback. Price, availability and needs at the time put us in Crosstrek. Initially I just needed a fuel efficient commuter, but now I'm happy to take the hit in efficiency to have a fun (and unique) overlanding rig. :)

WHAT DRONE DID YOU USE TO GET THE INTRO SHOTS? amazing video !
@TylerandHannah5 күн бұрын
DJI Air 3 Very solid drone: Capable of flying fast enough to keep up with a vehicle at decent speeds (a little over 40mph) and dual cameras for a lot of flexibility on the fly. Although I had a DJI Mini 3 Pro and LOVED that drone too. :)

Love my 23 Premium 6MT. First Subaru I had, and before it a 97 Nissan pickup 5MT. So pretty big upgrade. That's a lot of stuff you got going there. It's nice to see some Crosstrek overland builds out there amongst all the Tacomas, 4Runner, Jeeps, Broncos and all other big rigs out there. Love those STi wheels too! Wish I had those added on when I had to have the car ordered. Really enjoyed the beach shots. Nice one!

What is the gear you use to make the videos? I want to start a KZbin channel about exploring the PNW with my boys.
@TylerandHannahАй бұрын
@@rocklover28 Sounds like a great idea! 🙂 Could spend years exploring the PNW: mountains, ocean, volcanoes, rainforests, deserts, big cities, literally everything within just a few hours. Main Camera - Sony A7S III -Sony 14mm f/1.8 GM -Rokinon Cine AF 35mm & 75mm -Rokinon 1.7x Anamorphic Adapter (for previous 2 lenses) -Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 (not worth the price tag imo) Gimbal - DJI RS3 Pro Drone - DJI Air 3 (I love all DJI drone models, especially the mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro) Action Cam - DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro I will try to make a video that breaks the gear I prioritize and how I use it. 🫡

Very nice video. I just recently installed a locker in my Subaru (I’m more geared for capability versus overlanding but still do some overlanding here and there) and I will say the locker is a seriously great upgrade. It’s definitely a more challenging modification but it’s worth it imo if you plan to do all the crazy stuff that I’ve done.
@TylerandHannahАй бұрын
@@slt_trek Awesome! It definitely looked more involved than anything I’ve ever done. Glad to hear it’s a big improvement, even on a newer Crosstrek (your build looks like a blast to drive). I wasn’t sure if we’re just adding a diff locker on models prior to 2018 when they added Xmode, or newer ones too.

Great setup. How's the mpg impact with this rig and tires? I dig the idea of having hitch carrier to have extra storage and a separate mount for spare tire.
@bhavyanshuparasher1292Ай бұрын
Also, did you do the rear mounts yourself? I don't have that skillset and would like a custom shop to mount these for me.
@TylerandHannahАй бұрын
@@bhavyanshuparasher1292 It is pretty rough. I think this last trip we averaged 15mpg, nearly half of what we were getting stock. The other built out Crosstrek we came across in our latest video said they were getting about the same. Same size tires as us, 235/75/r15. and a big load on the roof. Although both of us were happy with the mpg considering how loaded down we were. A lot of trucks out there are getting this same mileage unloaded. As far as the mounts, I’m not sure what you’re talking about. I didn’t have a shop so any work on this other than wheel alignment. My dad did the lift kit and I did everything else: the hitch/hitch baskets, roof rack, panels etc. I have very little mechanical skills with tools but was able to slowly figure it all out through trial and error. Happy to be more specific if there’s something more you’re curious about.

Great video. Epic editing. Really like how you moved the story along with the right music. Small world, I was parked at the Moulton Barn the morning of Wednesday Oct 16 and it was socked in with smoke and I couldn't see the Tetons. Great idea to go east into the National Forest. I had my drone as well. Missed opportunity. Your wife is very patient. Loved the Batman toys. Definitely leave links.
@TylerandHannahАй бұрын
Thank you so much! You'll have a new card up your sleeve for the next visit to the Tetons. I almost told a few photographers that were pulling up to the barn what my plan was, but I was not at all confident enough that it was going to produce anything worth while. According to the metadata on my files, I was there on the 14th, just a couple days apart. Here's the magnetic action camera mount: amzn.to/3AmVlDx Ulanzi also sells it on their own website for $20, but you miss out on the ease of Amazon. I use a ton of Ulanzi products. This one in particular has replaced all my past suction cup mounts and what not. It's amazing.
