42:00 to 42:10 says a lot. He should have said " Oops we forgot to tell arty what we were going to do, again." By the time arty figured out what they were doing it was too late. We were holding fire to support the charge we knew was coming. It is called artillery tactics.

@@WoR_Sycamore Overall. Arty did not even know where you guys were. We watched the ground erupt in red mist. those guns were not even in our zone. As bad as it sounds arty isn't even affected by that. That is what we call a good shot.

27:00 Only Officers and NCOs should be talking when facing combat at any second. Some teams are hunter killer groups and they are after you. You better become silent and let your eyes [and ears] do the catterwhalling or the Democrats get to keep their slaves.

19:00 Just when you relax and face the same direction Johnny Reb rolls up behind and skewers you like a coyote in the chicken coup. Always assign Scouts when relaxing to circle the group like a hornet. Always face outboard as a group facing all directions. Never relax facing just one direction. The other three directions will kill you.

14:45 Without roving scouts you are subject to officer-offing. Have best shooters hover like a hornet around the nest. Don't let anyone use ridges or valleys to sneak up on you. Officers are not Expendable. Scouts are, even if out of line. Keep the Officers and flags alive. Both should follow and not lead an attack - then retreat if attack fails. The job of an Officer is to think it all out - not die in a gutter. Pick a shooter and make him your bodyguard. Sometimes you pick a team of five or six. Depends upon size of unit you control.

And your bodyguard retreats with the officer they are assigned to.

Remember, as an officer you can tell soldiers to walk around holding up a plate of donuts. Just pick a personal cohort and their job is to keep you alive. And the larger your personal iron guard is the more reinforcements you carry around with you at all times.

In the Marine Corps it is called a 'Reactionary Unit' and I had the pleasure of commanding one. We are always somewhere nearby. Then suddenly we appear and takeover the place. It was 40 Marines with shotguns, M16s and Colt 45's. Living the dream.

2:00 Listen to your superiors, be it NCO or Officer. Do exactly as they say like a hand puppet - or you do not belong here.

As a rule, NCO does not fall in - they stand apart and supervise the orders given by an Officer. An NCO is an enforcer of orders and discipline. An NCO is a mimic and repeats orders given by Officers. An NCO stands alone and separate from the troops. When no Officer is present, unit control shifts to the highest ranking NCO present. If you intend to fall into formations and simply follow orders, do not spawn as an NCO. During actual combat only Officers and NCOs should be talking.
