I agree Tretjak is the best goalie the world have ever seen and Tretjak in goal and it his best maybe another result but you can think about that They had 2 team 2 hockey Nation no another Nation could beat. This is the Best hockey ever seen. I was 15 years old and I remember if it was today. I love hockey I love canada and I love Russian hockey. Thats it❤❤❤

I am so agree. 2 world best hockey nation in 3 game. The Big Red Machine against 20 best hockey players NHL for Canada. Think about it. Makarov,Larionov,krutov against Gretsky,Lemiux and Messier. It couldt be better and those 3 matches goes in history as hockey at its Best. I feel for Sovjetunionen had they have Tretjak at his best the result would be another result but they Mylnikov but his half good as Fuur. And some refery to canada. I was little bit confuse that canada didnt get more minutt at the bench that is hockey that time. I was 16 years old and hockey at that time was yust amazing. Gretsky,Lemiux,Messier,makarov,Larionov but there was one player in this 3 matches I was Wow!!! This player is also one off the greatest and thats Valerej kamenskey. What a puck handling and great on skating. I did not think he got his creditt on this games. For me he was yust one off the greatest as Gretsky and Lemiux. I love Russian hockey and also Canada. Always on the top. Maybe they start bad but they also are in final. Russia and Canada,Finland Sweden and USA are very good with they U-20 hockey and sometimes there are more people wathing this games then senior. Canada is so good cheering home fans and they Are Nr 1 if the WC are in Canada. But USA are also Nr 1.Reegards from A very hockey Fan.( sorry my english)Ps. This my answer other have they. Just one to say Hockey is NOT the same now. I think after Valerej Bure time in Nugano it was the end off Russsian domination. true, the best hockey ever in my lifetime, and maybe in future. for the Soviets, the entire team was unexpectedly great. for Canada, I expected Gretsky, Lemieux Coffey to be great. the player who surprised and impressed me the most was Hawerchuk. Hawerchuk has left us too soon, RIP.

This level will never be achieved again. The Soviet Union broke up 4 years later and their hockey program was weakened. Players got picked up by NHL teams and the memory of this series fades into the past.

CCCP vs CANADA were the best and most exhilarating hockey ever played. I loved watching the Soviets beautiful style of play. They had a great team. (Best ever?) A better team than Canada imo. Team Canada was together for 4 weeks only at that point, a great disadvantage if compared to the Soviets team which had been playing together for years. Team Canada needed that home cooking from the Crowd and the referees to even things out. All fair to me. The difference was the Soviets didn’t know yet about Mario Lemieux. Otherwise they win the tournamen

Commentators are far better, the game is better, the audience is better. Everything is better than today. I might watch some modern NHL just to find out it sucks.

This is the number one game of the 20th century! I watched parts of the finals at TV in Sweden. It was really big.............I wish NHL could be like this but I get the feeling the audience nowadays is...dead almost. No life, This was ROAR!
